We look to bounce back at Meadowbank tomorrow night as we face in form Chelmsford City under the lights. The Clarets sit 8th in the table and are unbeaten in their last 6 matches, scoring 12 goals in their last 2 games. The Essex side also includes two former Wanderers in the form of Jack Barham and recent loanee, Noah Phillips.

George Francomb was added to the injury list at the weekend but Alfie Rutherford is expected to return. Brennan Camp returns from suspension while George Knight serves the last game of his.

Predictions

Dorking 3-2 Chelmsford (Prior, Lewis, Carter)

1,812 att.

                                 Foulkes

               Camp         Annesley     Norville-Williams

 Enslin      McManus      Sidwell         Pinchard       Lewis

                            Prior         Carter

Subs: Craig, L.Vincent, Pybus, F.Vincent, Moore, Rutherford, Lawrence

@thedork Not entirely sure, I am guessing it will be a free transfer

Chelmsford were hard to play against at their place (or was it the wind?) and seem to be a threat from set pieces (like us). They have only drawn two away games this season, us only two at home; so I'm going for a nervy 1-0 DW win. Camp with the goal and a booking.

Bonus point for the booking @baggy 🤣 🤣

@thedork Doubt it, as his contract was torn up

Development fees are applicable to reward former clubs for training and education, typically payable when a player signs their first professional contract or transfers before the end of the season of their 23rd birthday. These payments, regulated by FIFA and national associations (like the FA in England), are calculated based on the cost of training at different category levels and the time spent at each club between ages 12 and 21 or 23

Near misses at both ends, could have gone either way,  respect the point.

Team worked hard all night however a swashbuckling win would go a long way right now though.

Yeah, a really good game against a team that came to play football. A shame we didn't take the lead first half with all those crosses going over but in the end I was glad to get away with a point. Anything could have happened with those scrambles and TC made an immense goal saving tackle.  Hopefully nothing too bad on the injury front from tonight. Pybus must be ready to start now surely.  For some reason, every team that has gone top has then struggled for a bit. I thought it was a pretty decent performance and on another day the goals go in. Big game on Saturday now.

Yes really entertaining game and a bit nerve racking sometimes- definitely felt the tension in the air, was a lot quieter than usual.
I thought Kai was brilliant first half and did an amazing bit of skill to pass a defender at one point- he looked exhausted in the second half though.
Shame to lose JP for what Marc said is a week to 10 days possibly. Also Alfie not fully fit yet and Dennon looks like he’s struggling every game at the moment.
It’s a huge concern heading into the next few games but on the plus side Pybus looked great when he came on and Pinchy showed his class at times

A decent game which was end to end at times. I thought that Enslin had a good game and always looked lively when on the ball. Kudos to Tony Craig for stopping what looked like a certain goal right at the end. Hornchurch winning means that we are no longer comfortable at the top of the table with a tough home game against an inform Ebbsfleet side on Saturday a win is needed if we are to consolidate the top spot

Yes, agree with what you say. I though Kai or Camp were my MOM. Good point in the end but a couple of rivals made up ground. We really need to beat both Ebbsfleet (who looked good at Horsham when I saw them a few weeks ago) and Enfield to ensure we stay ahead. With the injuries we have particularly up front, we are struggling to score goals at the moment. If that continues, we will do well to remain in the top 3.  Attendance was much lower than expected - I bet Marc was not happy with that but there were no discount deals for this weeks' games, so not surprising.

Strong start, but struggled a little later on with injuries clearly taking an effect (Dennon looked exhausted towards the end).

Really tough atm, such a potentially strong side, but so many injuries and niggles. Personally I think 4 points from Ebbsfleet and Enfield would be OK if players such as McCallum are back in contention after that.

Thought Chemsford were very strong, quite physical, but still slowed the game down, and wasted time whenever possible, which indicates they were happy with a point, which makes sense.

1,200 midweek is ok I guess, there are so many games atm.

Rumours online that the Chelmsford fans 'smashed up the toilets' - not sure how much truth there is in that, but if they did shouldn't be too hard to identify those responsible given it was all ticket for them, and Chemsford City should pay for any damage too.

Good to hear Marc is considering getting in someone short term to help out up front. Certainly need  it. Believe any signing will have to be signed by 4th Thursday of March (26th) to play this season. Paul McCallum still a couple of weeks away. There is hope Casey be back later than that, may be last 5 games.

1209 including 142 away fans

We really do deserve more than 1067 home fans when we are in such a strong league position. I guess the main factors were that it was chilly, the Champions League was on tv and we are at home again on Saturday. The cost of living issues around at the moment cannot be discounted either. Not everyone is buying a £12 pizza at the game tbh.

I have long argued for the club to do (multi game) ticket bundle deals, however the only real offers have been cheaper kids tickets for school holiday matches and I think there was a 'show your other clubs season ticket' deal once (on an international break?) to get concession price.

If we go up to the National League the club will not unreasonably want (in reality need) to put prices up in order to be remotely competitive, but a £20 (or more) ticket price is going to be a big deterrent to many for cold night games.

All that said, I expect a huge attendance for the Worthing game over Easter

@dorking-eagle Absolutely agree on the cheap kids (and U18/21) tickets David - they are the future after all, and the atmosphere definately improves when that offer is on

I was expecting around 1400-1500 last night so was a fair way short of that. I was stood in the Bank with no one in front of me which was rare for a big game. I’m sure it’ll be busier Saturday with a dry day forecast
