Bit of discussion about the 26/27 squad in the other thread so thought I'd move it to it's own one. I am sure we will see a retained list in the next week or so but for now, the confirmed contracted players for next season are:

Brennan Camp

Josh Taylor (injured for the first few months)

Harry Pinchard

James McShane

Seb Tauta-Caballero

Dennon Lewis

Alfie Rutherford

Jake Lawrence

Confirmed players leaving so far:

Tony Craig (retired)

Luke Moore (retired)

Niall McManus

Who would everyone keep/release for next season?

I genuinely thought after reading that Seb B is leaving Farnham, he might be rejoining. But proposed signings look 👍🏻

Captain is an interesting topic - I think Prior might be a good shout if he’s fit and playing regularly.

Yeah, gutted re Charlie: not only was he usually the best player on the pitch and produced so many moments of magic he was a model captain and representative of the club. We can only wish him well wherever he ends up; and hope to see him again.

On the captaincy, Camp would set the tone really well and is a guaranteed starter; my only reservation is that he is prone to being impetuous and picking up needless bookings. Him and Marc would be a, er, combustible combination.

Also gutted if JNW goes - anyone know where to?  He got better and better as the season went on and will be a real loss on the left hand side.

@philrigerator prior is not a leader or vocal enough

needs to be Brennan, as mentioned before he starts every game, gives his all and is very vocal.

Only other candidate is Dan G but he doesn’t start regularly enough to warrant it

I'll have a Guinness

Prior the only real surprise there but definitely the biggest turnover we've had in a while.

By my count, including the 6 new signings and the 3 youngsters (Lawrence, Tauta-Caballero, Sullivan), we only have a squad of 21 which feels a little on the low side.

So I guess we are looking at bringing in a new Number 1 obviously plus a new younger keeper? Or promote from the academy ?

Yes, Marc said higher than normal, and lot of old guard leaving. Didn't see Ted Sullivan mentioned, but yes assume he is staying.

Marc also mentioned a possible 7th "golden" signing, but I agree feel we need a squad of 25 or so including the youngsters, although Marc did mention reduced budget for next season. Felt we fell at last fence due to our lack of depth in a couple areas so do feel we need a bigger squad.
