@gary-munnery Tbh I was a bit surprised with the Morris signing in the first place with his age, almost seems like hes a stop gap for the season.

Truro in March is even further🤣

Yep Nikaj is very skilful, almost on a higher wavelength than his attacking teammates, they don't always forsee when he is going to lay it on a plate for them!

53 tickets sold so far

Doesn't surprise me. You are not made to feel welcome there. Stewarding is so over the top. Torquay still think and act like they are a football league club.

I’m going 2-0 to Torquay

Torquay fan here, (only this once) even as Torquay supporters we find are stewards are very over the top even with us.
I know the new owners have looked in to it, but unfortunately we have in place the security for the next leagues up. It’s the criteria needed. So probably cheaper to keep in place rather take it away and then bring it back. Good luck for the season that was an enjoyable game yesterday.

It will be interesting what happens with Glenn Morris, and how much longer he has left. That free kick was another one you would expect any decent keeper to save as its the same side he is standing. It all started with that goal that Dagenham and Redbridge scored that he should have saved, and its not got much better since then.

@sjambok Yes it was an enjoyable game, in hindsight a fair enough score although I thought we could have shaded it with Torquay largely defensive for the last 15 after going down to 10 men.

The stewards are without exception far too pompous and formal, it is like they have just come out of a year long health and safety training course - they have no human touch, no friendliness or informality, basically they are the complete opposite of light touch non-league stewarding that most are used to. Luckily it's not our stewards every week, but i just find it a rude way of doing things. Probably comes from the person at the top, and the other stewards really need the work so have to follow the same approach.

Just rewatched it - he couldn't have been any further across really and still didn't get down to it ☹️

As Marc said, you'd take a point on the road at Torquay when you looked at the fixtures and I agree.

Agree with what others are saying re: Morris but my frustration with it that he has been bought in as this experienced head we needed, but does not seem to add anything in terms of organisation and commanding the team. Just feels like he is there to pick up his pay cheque for one last season, and I'd imagine its a reasonably sizeable one at our level.

Considering our last 2 keepers Male and Foulkes were young and have since worked their way up the levels it did seem surprising weve changed the model almost and reverted to a 42 year old who we cant exactly plan for the long term with. Maybe the club already have one eye on someone and plan to pounce in the summer

Said it after Chelmsford that Morris is becoming a real worry. Doesn’t seem to make many saves and in our team where we concede a lot of chances it’s not ideal. Dagenham goal, Billericay goals,  Chelmsford goals, now Torquay goal. I for one thought it was a big upgrade from Foulkes to get an established EFL keeper but not turning out that way. I also noticed Chelmsford the other evening were not pressing him meaning they don’t trust him to pick out a pass either. Can’t see him lasting the season at this rate. Hope he proves me wrong.

Well done to those that made the trip 🙌

Yes I’m sure there is a few on the list. Max Foulkes isn’t ready and I’m not sure if he ever will be at the level required, from what I’ve seen.

Gillingham fans were full of praise for him, but maybe that's like we were when Mooro left, when in reality he's run his last race?
