Hi all,
Is there any interest in running a mini prediction league - just for a bit of fun and to promote wider engagement on the Forum?
We could run one for all the Dorking games in each month, with a suitable prize for the winner each month. I have spoken to OLBG and they seem up for providing a suitable prize - shirt or merch perhaps. Format tbc, but something like a point for a correct result and 3 points for correct score. For those who enter, we could publish a league table each month. Or from first game in March to the end of the season. Might encourage more than the regulars to get involved and add a bit of competitive spice to our predictions!
What do people think? (A thumbs up will do)

So, whilst the Daggers game felt like it had to be a draw, somehow we managed to lose - an outcome that only three of us predicted. So congrats to @Crawleysth, @BerkshireBob and @Wayworn Wanderer on your gloomy wisdom. One point each for you as no-one got the right score; nowt for everyone else.
I'll put a table up after Saturday. They never used to print league tables until after the third game. Always thought it is a bit pointless after a single game, but there you go.
August Mini-Prediction League Table
Here's the table after two games. @Wayworn Wanderer sneaks into an early lead, closely followed by the master of the stats, @Calvertskans, who both somehow managed to forecast a very rare DW goalless draw. Us non-scorers and those tied are in no particular order.
I'll publish a table for the separate season-long competition at the end of each month, starting in September. Good luck!

While no-one saw the 3-0 coming - understandably - Wayworn Wanderer increases his lead at top, but a number of others at least register their first points. Still all quite tight.

So no-one saw that coming vs Maidstone. Nul points all round. No change to table.
I got the 3-2 goal fest, but sadly not the right way round. 😔
So between us we predicted every sort of hammering of Walton & Hersham except for the one that actually happened. The herd winning mentality was spot on though, so we managed to all increase our scores without altering the table much at all.
One more game in August for TomCalvert and the chasing pack to overall Wayworn Wanderer's two point margin and claim the prize. Surely he has to gamble?

Hopefully to be presented on Tuesday 8 September if you are at the game? Final outcome not affected by the last minute winner, or the brinkmanship!
Hard luck to @Steve1966, who was 10 seconds away from snatching second place and congratulations to @WestSussexWanderer on being the only punter to have predicted that narrow win.
