Another visit to the dreaded Hop Oast Stadium this Good Friday as we face local rivals Horsham and aim to edge closer to the league title. The Hornets have had a good first season at step 2, but currently sit 15th with just 1 win from their last 5 games. They also have a few ex-Wanderers in the form of Isaac Philpot, Charlie Hester-Cook and Lewis Carey.

No weekly update yet but recent updates suggested that we may see the return of Brennan Camp, Dennon Lewis, Niall McManus and possibly even Pat Casey this Easter weekend. Louie Annesley played 90 mins for Gibraltar away in Latvia last night, so you would imagine he would be a doubt to start for this one. Alfie Rutherford and Liam Vincent limped off with injuries against Hemel last weekend so may also be doubts.

Predictions:

Horsham 0-1 Dorking (Carter)

2,118 att.

                            Foulkes

              Camp        Craig      Norville-Williams

   Enslin          Pybus          Pinchard          Pearson

                            F.Vincent

                      Prior          Carter

Subs: Annesley, Francomb, McManus, Sidwell, Lewis, McCallum, Lawrence

Personally I'd start with McCallum, and include as many players as possible not scarred by those FA Cup defeats 🙃

Not sure what sort of football would be best suited against Horsham tho - anyone know thier defensive vulnerabilities?

Annesley might be able to go on the bench as cover for Tony Craig I would hope

I am predicting a 3-0 win to Dorking, as Horsham aren't winning many at the moment

@adeb PMac looked like he was struggling a bit towards the end of the Hemel game so I can maybe see us resting him a bit for the Worthing game on Monday instead.

I used to live in Horsham for over 30 years so have seen them a few times this season, but not as many times as Dorking, and will be in the away end on Friday. Their defence and midfield is quite experienced so may take some time to break down. James Hammond is dangerous with free kicks,  and Hester-Cook  and Gravata are their main dangers. Although I believe Luer is their top scorer have not seen roo much of him. Shamir Fenelon is dangerous if he plays. A few of their more dangerous forward players have also left or are injured. At one time they only had 13 fit players but a few have recovered from injury. Games I have seen they have gone for it in the first half, and opponents can get back into the match, or take control in the second half if they are good enough. I am confident Dorking can win provide they start well, and manage any initial attacks Horsham may mount for periods they are on top.

Would expect a good atmosphere as Horsham fans can be quiet vocal. If you haven't been to Horsham before, they have a £1 deposit scheme on their coloured plastic cups, which you return after your last or only drink if driving (like me). If we are able to access the clubhouse, this has a bigger range of beers available, some of which may be cheaper.

I’m going to buck the away win trend and predict a score draw , 1-1. Prior .

i know Horsham haven’t been in great form, just had a feeling they’ll raise their game for this one.

I really fear for this one. If Horsham come at us at pace again, we will struggle, especially if TC is playing.

1-1 with Carter scoring.

Horsham have lost a lot of pace in the side due to injuries and a couple of players leaving. Gravata is the main player with pace left, although I don't know anything about the 2 young players they signed on loan from Barnsley last week.

Marc’s update suggests that the rest has done Dennon good and he will be back tomorrow. Might be too soon for Camp and Niall but didn’t sound like they were far away or possibly on the bench.

No other injury or status updates on Pat Casey, Rutherford, Francomb, P-Mac, yet at this stage of the season I fully understand Marc not wanting to tip-off our opponents on the squad availability.

Also disquiet about the ticketing situation - mainly Horsham selling it as home-away despite it being unsegregated and having the weird situation where away tickets are ‘sold out’ despite you being able to buy in the home end in what is an unsegregated game.

Fancy us to be too strong for Horsham tomorrow, 0-2.

Marc is spot on regarding the ticketing, if we are going to have the best part of 800 there then segregate it properly...if that means they have to lay on separate food and drink and toilet facilities in a proper away end then so be it. They did it for Worthing's visit earlier this season so it makes little sense why not now

By making the Dorking end strictly segregated and only bought through DWFC then we could have had unity and togetherness with the bonus of banned supporters kept out for example, and whilst I don't expect the worst, there is quite a culture of mouthy fans in this league at the moment, and the last thing we need in the ground is flashpoints and pockets of animosity.
