Bit of discussion about the 26/27 squad in the other thread so thought I'd move it to it's own one. I am sure we will see a retained list in the next week or so but for now, the confirmed contracted players for next season are:

Brennan Camp

Josh Taylor (injured for the first few months)

Harry Pinchard

James McShane

Seb Tauta-Caballero

Dennon Lewis

Alfie Rutherford

Jake Lawrence

Confirmed players leaving so far:

Tony Craig (retired)

Luke Moore (retired)

Niall McManus

Who would everyone keep/release for next season?

The ones to go would be Francomb and (sadly) Pybus. Also I would replace Foulkes. He is much improved, but still lets in loads of goals. I wouldn't mind seeing Slav back.

As we are staying in this division, I would keep Prior, but not take on Pmac as he is too injury prone.

@rh3 I'm a big fan on Slav but replacing Foulkes with him might be the wildest take i've ever seen...

Foulkes walks in to every team in the league above. He has a bit of a weakness for shots from distance but most of the goals conceded this season were not his fault. In fact, I don't think he had a single error that lead to a goal.

I was being a bit tongue in cheek here. I have a feeling Foulkes could follow Harrison Male in leaving us. And I was sorry to see Slav go. He was a shot stopper.

I think it is pivotal we keep hold of Foulkes for at least another season, he is destined to play at a higher level, hopefully with us🤞

The squad is crying out for players in midfield like a Razzaq Coleman De-Graft. Players who are strong, who can get up and down the pitch, and offer a goal threat. Just watch the level of Devante Rodney or Zak Brunt in the recent play off semi finals to see the type of forwards we need to be looking at recruiting.

If we are looking at who to release it would be the players who are not physically capable of playing 30+ games at National league south at a high intensity. Pybus is the obvious one to release as his body had broken down on him and York really sold at the right time when we thought we were getting a bargain.

In the attacking areas, we are severely lacking in strength, speed and power. We have no one fitting that profile other than Dennon Lewis.

The players we have who we should be building the squad around are Harrison Foulkes, Brennon Camp, Dennon Lewis, Charlie Carter and Jordan Norville Williams. These are the 5 lads to build the promotion push around. Everyone else's place is up for discussion.

The conversation is more about keeping those 5, and then bringing in the right profile of player to supplement those who can play 30+ games per season at a high intensity and can push on in the division above.

Luke, can't believe you have not mentioned Harry Pinchard here!! I think he could be more important than any of the five you mention.

Worthing have just released their retain and release list and it has some suprises if you ask me! https://worthingfc.com/2026/05/retained-list-2025-26/

Jack Sprong being the main one, thought he was the real core of the team! Would be happy to see him in a Dorking shirt.

Also I fear Foulkes will be Worthing bound if nothing is tied up with Seymour.

Worthing did thank Jack Sprong specifically. Maybe he has something else lined up, but yes would be good addition for Dorking.

Spong is far too similar a player to Pinchard so not sure we need both.

I would imagine Spong would go up a level rather than down.

I see that Ashley Nadesan has been released by Sutton.  Was on loan at Worthing.  Local lad who would do a job for us.  I hadn't realised George Alexander is now at Hornchurch, and left Eastbourne. Another goalscorer who caught my eye this season.

Waiting in anticipation for the Dorking retained list coming out. .

I’d expect end of this week or beginning of next. BOA filmed the new signings today

Some mention about Slav coming back.  He has again proved himself to be the play-off master. He saved a pen for Whyteleaf in the semi-final at Jersey Bulls then in the final he saved four pens! Two during normal time (although one had to be retaken because he moved) and then two in the penalty shootout to get Whyteleaf promoted.

I wonder if returning Wanderer(s) could be one of Sam Beard? Slav Huk or maybe evening Jack Young?

I noticed Sam Beard is in contract negotiations - as per Worthing’s retained list. Opportunity?

@philrigerator The returning Wanderer is someone much closer to home 😉

Sam Beard would be a very good option to replace Norville-Williams if he does decide to move on though.

I can't see us signing Young or Spong as they are very similar players to Pinchard. Unless others also leave (Vincent, Pybus, etc), then I don't think we need many other central midfield options.

Slav couldn't get in a Welling side near the bottom of the league below. He is absolutely not a Step 2 goalkeeper anymore.
