Bit of discussion about the 26/27 squad in the other thread so thought I'd move it to it's own one. I am sure we will see a retained list in the next week or so but for now, the confirmed contracted players for next season are:

Brennan Camp

Josh Taylor (injured for the first few months)

Harry Pinchard

James McShane

Seb Tauta-Caballero

Dennon Lewis

Alfie Rutherford

Jake Lawrence

Confirmed players leaving so far:

Tony Craig (retired)

Luke Moore (retired)

Niall McManus

Who would everyone keep/release for next season?

@adeb I would assume McShane should be fine considering he was on the bench for the two playoff games. I think Annesley and Gallagher are the only immediate doubts (and maybe Pinchard?).

By the sounds of that interview their will be no more signings before the season starts (Until the inevitable injury crisis). I assume he's going to trust the youngsters in that case. I'd of thought MW would have added another ST but maybe he thinks Lawrence is fine as an option from the bench

@boa-watcher I found his response to the signings question quite interesting as he sort of just avoided the question.

Last pre-season, when asked the same question, he was very definitive in saying there would be no more signings which he wasn't this time.

Will be interesting to see if there are any trialists tomorrow.

@calvertskans Ye I suppose he did just completely gloss over it I assume based on the way he's built the squad it'll be a 352 with 2 holders and Barret in the 10.

If we he were to make more signings it would surely be another ST or a CM on loan until Josh Taylor returns from his injury

If Pinchard and Taylor are already out for months does that not force MW to bring in another midfielder or will he trust young Dylan Grass to play in their abscence

Think a young midfielder on loan (a Sidwell type) until Christmas is now a neccessity.

I would agree with that, and still hoping for another forward.
