Last season it was £18 in advance online and £20 on the day. I hope it hasn't gone up any more than that as it's pretty rough and ready as grounds go. Premier League doesn't start until the following weekend so I will be there but it's a ground that reminds me of the huge disparity between the NL (where we all want to be) and the NLS ☹️ If Frank and Debra end up attending this one I think they will end up describing it as a 'hole' 😉 

It’s a funny old ground, very very old and somewhat dilapidated in places. Will be attending for sure, want to try to do at least half, maybe 3/4s of all aways this year. 
Not told the missus yet…

@gary-munnery I know the feeling 🤣🤣 managed to do just under half the games last season home + away. Done all 3 away games in August last season while my youngest wasnt even a month old, didnt go down to well with the other half😬

I actually really like Maidenhead's ground - proper old school. These sort of places are disappearing fast and won't be with us for long.

They have got plans to move to a more modern ground on the edge of a park with a plastic pitch and prefab metal stands, which will be a shame. 

All they actually need is one new stand or terrace on the dugouts side of their ground to replace the wooden stand that burned down about 40 years ago.

But the land their 150+ year old ground sits on (one of the oldest in the world) is absolutely prime town centre land, and it will no doubt be worth millions when you build high rise apartments on it, such as the ones that recently already popped up in close proximity.

@dorking-eagle Totally agree - a real shame. And High Street grounds are gold dust imho - they bring revenue not just to the club, but to the whole town/city too. I also think it encourages more away fans to travel, making an away day more attractive with loads of local clubs and easy transport options.

Trying to think off the top of my head who in our division still has town centre grounds - us (obvs), Maidenhead, Maidstone, Hampton, Farnham, Chesham (a little off but close enough) and maybe Dagenham? Of those only us, Maidstone, Chesham and Dagenham are pretty certain to stay that way.

Wonder how they’ll finish all that ply wood, will look a bit naff just painting it .

And is the scoreboard moving to the far corner did you say David? 

My understanding is that the club are getting a fairly large video screen for the NW corner (the corner where people look over the fence)

I dont know what will happen with the old scoreboard but I wouldn't think we will need 2 on the go each game.

That gantry doesnt look great, and even if that cladding is professionally finished with sponsors boards, it could be very dark walking underneath it - would it even need lighting underneath?

It just looks really bulky, will people in the back row of the Lampard Stand even be able to see past it? Could be quite a view blocker!

Any more on that one David? Where to? Another shame, actually my favourite away ground in this league, that one. Also seems strange, there's plenty of scope where they are and it's perfectly located.

They essentially want a low maintenence modern ground (ie not old concrete terracing with minimal seats) that can house all their teams (men, women, youth) - so a plastic pitch...

December 2024:

Off the field I have more good news to share as we head into 2025. Just before Christmas we signed a two-year option on the piece of land that we are looking to build our new community stadium on, with facilities to support all sections of the football club and provide additional sporting and non-sporting facilities for the community. This is a big step forward for us and completes the immediate tasks needed on our side to progress the planning permission process.

We are now waiting for the building firm looking to purchase the land The Meadow currently sits on to complete their tasks and reach a similar point with our existing landlords to enable the planning processes to fully get underway and start to make things happen. We know there are still many challenges ahead, but we have done a huge amount of work behind the scenes, drawing on expertise available and making sure we are making all the right economic, social and environmental decisions to build a stadium that is right for everyone.

I hope 2025 is the year in which we make serious progress on this project, with the land secured, the Board and I will be doing all we can to cajole the other stakeholders into picking up the pace on getting us into a new home.

@dorking-eagle Looks like they're in the process of installing a new pitch, drainage system etc, which won't have been cheap so I wonder if a move is on hold for now?
