Big game at the top of the table as we look to bounce back from the disappointment of Friday. Worthing currently sit 3 points behind us in the table with 4 wins and a draw from their last 5 games. The Rebels squad also includes a few ex-Wanderers in the form of Sam Beard, Joe Cook and Jack Young.

Tony Craig is the latest to be added to the injury list after picking up an injury at Horsham. Louie Annesley was described as 50/50 and Camp is also still a doubt.

Predictions:

Dorking 1-1 Worthing (Prior)

3,700 att.

                       Foulkes

      L.Vincent   Annesley   Norville-Williams

Enslin        Pybus         Pinchard          Lewis

                     F. Vincent

             McCallum      Carter

Subs: Francomb, Knight, Sidwell, Sullivan, Moore, Pearson, Prior

Naturally I feel pretty deflated after that. Scrappy first half then the change at the break going to 2 up top made a big difference. Prior had a good impact and got the assist for Charlies goal. Personally I think we was the better side in the second half. Worthings to lose now although they have a tough run in and will feel the pressure to win the last 3 games and remain top. Its far from over though.. keep the faith👍

Agree with all of this HW.

congratulations and well played to Worthing. They limited us to a few chances, keeper made some worldie saves and took theirs - both of their goals top finishes. They did a job on us and fair play. Their Razzaq was a terror.

And yes, didn’t think we deserved to lose necessarily but thought they did look the more dangerous. Bottom line is we suddenly lack goals. Bright sparks I thought were JNW, Charlie and JP9 (when he came on).

Just have to go again and can’t feel sorry for ourselves. We’ve had an awful month or so and we’re still level on points with Worthing. We have 3 winnable fixtures, and they have three tough games against Ebbsfleet, D&R and Maidstone. It’s not over. Maybe being second will help the players as all season no one has enjoyed being top. Pressure suddenly is on someone else for a change. But, wow, what a gut-wrenching weekend.

The attendance figure of 3426 was well under the supposed capacity of 4125? (or 4122 if you take the 3 off for the Lampard Stand replacing the flat standing)

I presume that the 'no mans land' on the west terrace must have accounted for quite a bit of that number, but the rest? Do we aim for less than capacity on account of the shallow stepped rake of that west end?

Anyway, thought the ground coped very well considering that 3426 is still HUGE

Staff and volunteers working their socks off all around the ground

I'll leave these photos here, my son and a couple of his friends fund raised and worked their solidly for a week solid painting (and repainting) the huge banner by hand, and they were very grateful to Alan Gout and Faizal at DWFC for helping them with the logistics of storing and organising it 👍

Pretty decent performance and very close to getting the draw which would have been a great result, just ran out of steam towards the end, allowing spaces to open up in the midfield. Would have been a great game  to have had Mcmanus on the field with his ability to get around the pitch.

@dorking-eagle Yes I spoke to your boy before the game and he was exhausted from sorting all that out. They did a sterling job and it looked brilliant .

As for the game I thought a draw would’ve been maybe a fair result but hats off to Worthing for two well taken goals. Was glad their number 7 went off, dangerous player. Thought either JNW or Carter were man of the matches for us , although Foulkes pulled off some superb stops.

Felt flat as anything leaving the ground but still have the faith it could swing back our way come Bath at home.

By the way was anyone following the Hornchurch score? 3-0 down in 12 minutes, 4-4 at half time, and then they lost 5-4! Crazy!

Walton and Hersham and Folkestone are joining the NLS next season by the way, so even more incentive to get up and out of this league - it just feels like we have outgrown it and there is room to grow on and off the pitch in the NL, even if it is a LOT tougher and we'd probably be massively up against it.

You can just imagine Farnham Town joining them too, as I say we really need to get up and out!!!

Never write off the (mighty, mighty) Wanderers!

I had to watch this on my phone with no commentary in Oslo, with mediocre lager at £16.50 a pint. So. It a good day!

To be honest, I always had us losing this one and not winning at Horsham. I do think we will win our final three though. Worthing scored some cracking goals, their goalie was great, and their no 7 caused loads of problems.

Worthing will find that being top of the league is a poisoned chalice and they aren't good enough to remain top.

Just feel like after going one up the game management left a lot to be desired.  Marc speaks a lot about going to a back 4 but was reluctant to do so because of personnel.   I'd rather of seen us go to a back 5.  We were left far to exposed at the back. Could of tightened it up by keeping both full backs back, Annesley playing alongside L Vincent and Knight.  Old school shut up shop with a bank of 4 in front and one up top.  Let them try and break that down. Just seemed to easy to thread a ball in behind leaving us far to exposed.  Even 1-1 would have been a fine result.  Now left hoping on other teams doing us a favour, while we are down to the bear bones.   Still believe we can do it though. Just gutting to see some ex wanderers being exceptional this weekend.  Philpott for Horsham and Cook and Beardy today,   could have done with some of their aggression.

The title race is far from over. I cant see Worthing picking up 9 points across the 3; at best 7 points but maybe wishful thinking...

Weston is obviously going to be the tricky one for us if they're still in with a shout of the playoffs.

It does feel unlikely that Worthing will get 9/9 points from those 3 games but I am more concerned with our own form to be honest. I can't see us picking up much more than 5 points from these games unless we can get some players back fit. Brennan Camp has been an enormous miss since that Enfield game and we also need the likes of McManus, Rutherford, Casey, etc as well if possible. Really hope the Pinchard injury isn't bad either as we would need him for playoffs at the very least.

It did feel a little bit like "one of those games" as we probably did edge the game across the 90. Their keeper made a few top quality saves and they found a bit of quality to find the top corner when it mattered.

Would be really nice to win one of these big games with big home or away crowds for a change. The only one I can remember winning since the play off final was the Horsham Boxing Day game this season.

Hopefully we can get a bit of momentum over these last 3 games and take some form in to a couple of home playoff matches.

I am hoping we might get 2 wins from last 3 but fear this may not be enough. As Tom says need to get some form to go into playoffs and secure 2 home playoffs as would not fancy our chances if have to play away in semi or final. We are now in the worst form of the top 11 (in last 6 games), so really need to improve rather than implode.

I only saw second half on the live stream and it seemed like it could have gone either way. Three moments of quality for the goals and the lumping it long at the end not quite good enough.

Given what had happened to every team at the top, I still think 7 more points would probably be enough but getting them seems a tall order at the moment. Agree that Camp has been a big loss, not to mention Casey of course.  Still plenty to play for - just need to find some form away from home.
