Our FA Cup run starts with Step 3 Wingate & Finchley at Meadowbank this weekend. The Blues currently sit in the bottom 4 of the Isthmian Prem although did pick up their first league win of the season on Tuesday night at home to Hashtag United.

Marc announced in his update that only McManus and Francomb (as well as Foulkes) are missing from the squad this weekend which would suggest that Norville-Williams returns from injury. Noah Phillips joined on loan from Leyton Orient earlier in the week as well.

Predictions:

Dorking 3-0 Wingate & Finchley (Prior, Carter, Muitt)

1,373 att.

                         Phillips

            Camp    Storey    Vincent

   Muitt       Taylor     Gallagher    Lewis

                         Carter

                  Prior    Rutherford

Subs: Craig, Annesley, Norville-Williams, Pybus, Moore, Hebert, McShane

@hemelwanderer Not the best we could've hoped for...winnable, but could go either way tbh.

That's alright, good enough awayday that, they usually segregate so everyone stands together too. Quite happy to do that one on the supporters bus, nice.

The Matt Briggs derby.

Not ideal as you want to avoid fellow NLS sides at this stage, especially away from home. However, Salisbury have started the season poorly and are yet to pick up a league win. We also beat them there earlier in the year and they have a nice big grass pitch which should be good for us.

Will mean two trips to Salisbury in just over a month.

I was spot on with the 32 teams in our regional zone by the way 🤩

Incredibly, we're the only NLS side to have drawn another NLS side (along with Salisbury obviously).

Hampton drew Merthyr from the NLN but no other all NLS ties which isn't ideal...

This is weird - 22 Grimsby Borough or Halesowen Town v Aveley

How have Aveley ended up in the Northern part of the draw 🤣

As I said on Sunday morning on this thread...

Last season (I emphasise that!) the region down here had 17 ties (34 teams)....ESSEX teams like Hornchurch and Canvey Island were NOT in our region, and neither were St Albans. So our region (albeit we were not in round 3Q last season) was VERY southern, but all the way down to the South West.

Basically there has to be a divide somewhere, and so our region is very much along the South (including Kent) all the way down to the South Western Counties, and Essex falls north of that divide...

For the 4th qualifying round, the country is split into just two regional zones, however you'll be pleased to learn that Essex teams like Braintree and Southend do get put into the Southern zone.

Properly bad draw for us. Away at Salisbury in the same league as us, and likely having Briggs on their team with a permanent hard on all game to get a goal against us.

Have a look at their ground on google streetview, or click my link below, it's not much of a step up from a simple cage football pitch!

Hes barely started a game for them. Seems to come off the bench most of the time.

You just know it though he’s going to score against us
