Can't be bothered to do a match thread for every pre-season game so will just do one for all of them.

We start with a trip to the West Sussex coast tomorrow as we face step 4 side, Bognor Regis Town.

Kick off is 1.30pm, with two 10 minute intervals apparently

I hope there aren't water breaks on top of this.

Players doing a maximum of 45 minutes each apparently.

Reasonably enjoyable game in the sun. Very disjointed with the 3 30minute halves and another random stop halfway through.
Thought Barrett linked up well with Alfie, Seb, Macca and Muitt in the early stages and somehow didn’t manage to find the net. Same with Bognor somehow missing an open goal after Foulkes was rounded.
Really impressed with Nikaj when he came on, will score lots i feel.
Grass also looks a real prospect.

First time visiting Bognor, nice little setup down there, good views, facilities and a lovely pitch with good goals

That open goal miss was ridiculous! Striker should have rolled it in, not blasted it!!

Agree the 3 'thirds' was crazy

I thought the 45 minute stoppage in the second 'third' was to change ends, but obviously not!!

Nikaj and Cook excellent, Pybus looks a LOT fitter

Hard to read too much in to the opening game of pre-season, especially this one where it was basically a training game. Some random thoughts from the game though:

  • Interesting to see Barrett up top with Alfie. Assume this won't be the case once Nikaj and Alfie start starting together.
  • New lads all seemed to settle in quite well
  • Muitt looked really sharp
  • Youngsters did well and the likes of Tauta-Caballero and Grass could easily get some minutes like Sullivan did last season
  • We looked a bit short of quality and options in midfield with Pinchard, Taylor and Gallagher all missing
  • Dissapointing to have so many players already missing through injury. I do worry about our first few weeks of the season due to missing players and varied loads in pre-season

Not sure where Morris was, I saw Foulkes was wearing his jersey so possibly a last minute couldn’t make it scenario?
Any idea who the other keeper was who played the last 1/3?

Was anyone at the open training today? Was Morris involved?

I saw from pictures than Dennon was.

@calvertskans yeah I went. Morris was doing some strength work but no keeping. Dennon did a bit but went for an ice bath early. Nikaj looked like a good finisher and Josh Taylor was doing some very gentle jogs as was annesley. Sayers was there but wasn’t involved

Just bought my ticket for the Chatham friendly and notice that Concessions are now over 65 not 60 like last season. I fall in between the 2 brackets so only an extra £1 so not much difference.

Hope that season ticket holders who already had concessions were honored on renewal. Not much increase, but makes Crawley even cheaper as their concession rate still over 60s.

@crawleysth Yes my uncle is a STH and is 63. He did the early bird offer when I got mine so he was ok.

Yes, not seen any official communication from the club on the increase in age for Concessions, or the Fans Forum (are only members of the ownership and season ticket holders being invited?). Normally I use Dorking as an example of a well run club at Crawley Fans Forums when comparing the two clubs communication, but Dorking have let themselves down this time.

The fans forum is for ownership group and season ticket holders only. As it is being held in the Lounge there wont be much room.

Thought the Jersey game was a really poor game of football. Not sure the real need for that long trip and fixture when you have that many players missing.

Also feels like we will be in trouble for tomorrow night against Chatham with so many players still unavailable and the remaining doing 90 mins on Friday.

Surprised we haven't added one or two more bodies yet tbh...
