Well 1 game to go and only Worthing and Hornchurch guaranteed a place. We need one of top 2 to do us a favour next week to guarantee us a place. Alternatively a draw at Weston would do, but that looks unlike with our terrible form. Only Maidenhead or  Maidstone can deny us a place in the playoffs. If we can finish in top 5 and get a home eliminator, I think that's probably best we can do considering our form.

Surely one of

Worthing v Ebbsfleet

or

Hornchurch v Maidenhead

is a home win on the last day!

Don't think we have the squad to get 3 wins tbh but we shall see. I know they say never write off the Wanderers but we find new unusual ways to lose every week right when it matters.

Very well put, today, was the most frustrating disappointing experience, as they say 'its the hope that kills'.

But we must continue to be as positive as we can be.

Marc said in the post match with James that there may be a couple of bodies back for the playoffs? Guessing Alfie and maybe Muitt? Possibly even Casey

@gary-munnery I would be amazed if Casey is back he will be so far behind fitness wise but who knows would be worth the gamble if there is a chance

Exactly yeah, I was just going by his Instagram post with the sand timer emoji. Definitely worth a gamble if at all possible

I can see both Worthing and Hornchurch winning, as Hornchurch can win title if Worthing draw . However, can see both Henel and Torquay winning too, so even if we get a draw will only be good enough for 5th, and home Eliminator. Feel draw at Weston will be brilliant result, and can't see us winning as expect we will concede at least 1.

Anything at Weston would be a bonus for sure. Would be great to see even a half fit Casey back if we make it through to the play-offs - he has been badly missed these last few games.

On a separate issue - nice to see Horsham fans' offer re the Camp fine, and the whip round yesterday.  But I still can't believe the FA gave it the time of day in the first place. 😖

Pleased that decent Horsham fans wanted to dis-associate themselves with the pillock who reported it to the FA

Shame the donation couldn't go to Brennan himself

But a terrific gesture nonetheless, well done Horsham fans.

By the way, I really agreed with Marc's recent analysis of NLS, that it is crying out for a team to grab the initiative and win it by 15+ pts

But....

Have you seen the NL and the NLN tables?

Whoever finished 2nd in both leagues could end up having to play a team 25 pts (or more!) below them!

At least in NLS, the teams are pretty evenly matched, and to it's impossible to call!

Maidstone can't deny us playoffs as they are 4 points behind with 1 game to play.

However, Maidenhead can if they win at Hornchurch and others below us win too.

Ebbsfleet and Maidenhead playing the top two is the 'insurance' IMO, I can't see BOTH Worthing and Hornchurch losing, in which case worst case scenario would be 7th

Even Torquay have a tricky game away against an in-form Tonbridge side. Hemel probably have the easiest game out of any of the top 8 at home to Salisbury.

Yes the top 3 are well clear in the NLN, but you need to get less points to get in the playoffs. Worthing's 81 would give them only 4th in the NLN, whereas Chelmsford are 10th with 73, but that would mean 5th in the NLN. I wonder if this will mean those going up from the NLN will do better in the NL than those going up from NLS.
