Maidenhead 1
Dorking Wanderers 2 (Camp, Polish Pele)

@dorking-eagle Yeah sounds more like a couple of local nutters rather than thier usual 'mob' - who may well have been banned/refused entry
0-0 for me

Interesting game, ruined slightly by the conditions. That might be the hottest Dorking game I've been to since Oldham away a few years ago...
First half was much of the same as last weekend. Lots of control but next to nothing in chance creation. Second half we conceded a bit of a control in exchange for some actual chances.
Something isn't quite clicking out wide. Muitt feels like a massive miss at the moment so hopefully he is back fairly soon.
Not sure Nikaj and Rogalski work well as a partnership as they seem a bit too similar to me. Hopefully Alfie is fit enough to start on Tuesday.
I will say that we have looked excellent defensively so far. Laqaretabua was the best player on a pitch by a mile, and Annesley and Camp did well also.
Not sure where Francomb was? Not in the squad and no mention of him at all in interviews or fitness updates.
@calvertskans I felt like we didnt get the ball out wide enough, especially in the first half. I am not surprised Wood got subbed off as he was largely anonymous - rarely seemed to get much of the ball. When Dennon came on he was more direct and running at his man and always looked dangerous
@calvertskans good observation re: Francomb. Not sure what’s happening there.
Stats:
Possession: Maidenhead 43% - 57% Dorking
Shots (OT): 9 (3) - 14 (3)
xG: 0.56 - 1.77
Passes: 284 - 399
Top Performer (Dorking): Josh Laqeretabua [7.7]
I'm surprised our XG was that high. Don't remember too many chances until JB right at the end, which could easily have nicked it for us.
I agree on the lack of delivery from the flanks, when Dennon is not on the pitch. I have not seen anything from Wood to suggest that he will be an asset. We miss Jimmy badly. I thought Maidenhead were a far worse team than last season, when they looked very dangerous at home, if not away. So very frustrating to have had enough chances to win both opening games and end up with one point. Early days though...
