Dorking Wanderers enter the Trophy in Round 2 proper (along with all other step 2 sides), and the draw for it is on Monday

If the format follows as per last season then the region we would be in for Round 2 will be a pretty huge one across the whole of the South

This would potentially mean facing one of the long list of teams below:

Sittingbourne or Cray Valley PM

Real Bedford or Ashford United

Brentwood Town or Welling United

Leatherhead or Canvey Island

AFC Sudbury or Leiston

Wingate & Finchley or Cheshunt

Stanway Rovers or Harrow Borough

Tilbury or Hadley

Waltham Abbey or Chatham Town

Billericay Town or Bishop's Stortford

St Albans City or Hanwell Town

Burgess Hill Town or Folkestone Invicta

Walton & Hersham or Hendon

Bracknell Town or Banbury United

Basingstoke Town or Dorchester Town

Plymouth Parkway or Poole Town

Wimbourne Town or AFC Portchester

Gloucester City or Havant & Waterlooville

Farnham Town or Bishop's Cleeve

PLUS the whole of the National League South(24)

Also very tempted to sack it off and go elsewhere, what an uninspiring draw on a completely free weekend when even a nice visit Devon or Cornwall wouldn't have been too much trouble.

Second year running at home against them in this exact round of the Trophy too - remember the Prior 'Panenka' in the shoot out then Marc and Co. legging it to America for a 3 day 'trip' (I'm trying to describe that USA visit politely!)

The home draw means 6 of our next 8 games are at Meadowbank! Two of those being against Eastbourne.

Also means we face Tommy Widdrington in back to back cup games...

FFS - might be a hard sell that one! Still, at least we're at home and it's winnable...

Maidstone fans on social media are REALLY moaning about getting Torquay away (for the second season running too). Apparently last season the Trophy game was a consecutive weekend to their league game there

Would have been happy with that myself, but I do totally get that repetition can get tedious!

I know it's a different statosphere, but in the Champions League, coming in NEXT season, any fixture between the same two teams can not be repeated for three consecutive seasons. There is a catch – it will only count where the same team is at home.

Nevertheless, what a good rule.

@steve1966 Last year, Eastbourne were a top 3 side. At least this year they are second bottom although they are obviously a better side than the positon suggests.

I am not sure, I saw them against Horsham in early September and they were awful.

So annoying getting the same team 2 seasons running. Haven’t decided if I’m going as yet as we have so many home games coming up.

Maybe time for the club to consider some sort of ticket bundle or other offer?

If you go in to December and if we get a home draw next round of the FA Trophy then it's actually 8 of the next 12 games at home!

On the positive, common sense with the pricing - Adults £12, Concessions a tenner, Under 18 £6, Under 8's £3

@dorking-eagle that’s reasonably priced to be fair.
Still considering swerving it in favour of a game elsewhere

I had a look around and am struggling - want another attempt at doing East Cowes Vics, but am saving that for a pre-season friendly when the weather is nicer, Great Yarmouth Town are away and I don't really fancy doing Raith Rovers again now the weather has turned colder. Have a nagging feeling that if I miss Dorking it will end up being a classic, but I just can't see there being much of an attendance to be honest. It's a 'free weekend' otherwise. Still undecided. A swashbuckling performance tonight and at Salisbury and I will probably be more enthused for it, especially if Marc talks it up and says we are really going to give it a go this season.

There's always Horsham v Farnham! That should be a good game. I am going to Gillingham v Crawley which is a 5.30 kick-off but coach leaves at 2 30 so won't be able to do 2 games.
