We find out our FA Cup opponents on Monday for the 2nd Qualifying round in a couple of weeks.
I don't think we will know our region yet until the 1st qualifying round has concluded this weekend, but we usually at the very least are not in the same region as South West clubs or even Essex clubs at this stage.
Who does everyone think we'll draw? I'll start with Maidstone (A)...

45% of a 1000 attendance against Pagham or 45% of a 2000 home attendance v Horsham (plus the beer, hospitality and merch income from a 2k FA Cup crowd), then the extra £2.3k prize money for beating a rubbish team pales into insignificance

Good shout Tom. It seems to be as simple as Kent, Surrey and Sussex, with bits of South London.
The FA don't seem to publish the zones (nor do the draw live) so you can never unravel it until after the draw.
Totally get why Marc would want the lowest club at home, as there is prize money on offer, however getting the likes of Pagham at home would surely cause a big dent in the home attendance compared to say Horsham at home or away?

This season Wingate and Finchley were in Zone 3 for the 1st Qualifying Round, which is the same region as (for example) Leiston on the east coast of Suffolk!

If you could guarantee that you will progress through each round then obviously you want the highest possible attendance draw possible for £££ reasons. However, you obviously can't guarantee that, so reaching the 1st round proper becomes the priority and the best way to do that is drawing the easiest possible team at home.
I would obviously take any step 5 team away as well.

Southall play at Uxbridge
And Uxbridge have also been drawn at home (v Farnborough)

When Palace groundshared with Charlton, it was whoever was drawn first got their choice of date first

Wonder if theres a chance itll be shown on the bbc sport website. They do tend to show games from the early rounds
