The run of in-form sides visiting Meadowbank continues this weekend as we face old rivals Ebbsfleet United. The Fleet are unbeaten in 4 games and sit 4th in the table, 6 points behind Wanderers.

Marc announced that we have no fit strikers available, except for Jake Lawrence, this weekend. There was no mention of the injury that forced off Louie Annesley on Tuesday night but George Knight does return after his 3 game ban.

Predictions:

Dorking 0-0 Ebbsfleet

1,912 att.

                                      Foulkes

                   Camp          Annesley      Norville-Williams

   Enslin       McManus       Sidwell        Pinchard           Lewis

                                     F.Vincent

                                       Carter

Subs: Craig, Knight, L.Vincent, Pybus, Moore, Straker, Lawrence

Hoping I can jinx Ebbsfleet by saying they’ll win 2-1. Carter for us

Excellent team performance, every player put in a shift. Thought we were better team in first half, even though conceded first and we really stepped up in 2nd half. Strangely I thought we might do well when I saw they were playing in light blue as we always seem to do well when the away team play in that colour. Great goal by Pearson at end who looked very quick. Hornchurch drawing actually meant lead back to 5 points which is great. Now need to get result at Enfield.

Excellent today, was a little worried about lack of forwards going into it but we are blessed with goals from other areas. The whole team today was superb , hopefully Niall is ok for Tuesday - looked like a trapped nerve in the back?

Sore back for Niall, not serious, he's had a heat pad on it the last few days and had a big massage before the game.

Deffo the better team first half, second half we were like a scolded cat, absolute determination to win it, and ruthless with half chances.

Delighted to be back to 5pts clear, at one point it was all level on points and only ahead on goal difference!

A Dorking win on Tuesday night and it'd be 8pts clear.

A much needed win, Hornchurch dropping points gives us the 5 point cushion again. A win on Tuesday will give us an 8 point lead🤞

That was another excellent performance all round. First half we were dominant and only behind to a great strike on the break. Other than one header which Foulkes brilliantly tipped over in second half, I don't think Ebbsfleet posed as much of a threat as the previous two opponents at Meadowbank.

I quite liked the formation, with Charlie up top with Dennon, but it does mean that instead of slinging over loads of crosses it pays to be a bit more creative going through the middle on the deck, with lots of movement - like the first goal away at Eastbourne. With good football the goals will come from somewhere hopefully.  The first was a weird gift (thank you keeper!) but the third was a fantastic goal, especially as Sam Pearson's first touches in the match. He is not a centre forward but he looks a real asset and great work from the club to get him in so quickly.  A really good game and fantastic atmosphere in the sun in the second half. Hope the crowds keep on coming.

Fantastic result and second half performance yesterday although for a while  I was concerned that it might be like a repeat of the Dagenham game. The strange equalising goal changed the whole dynamic of the match, have watced it back a few times and still not sure what the keeper was trying to do.

I honestly think the keeper thought he could pick it up, then realised that it was a pass from his own defender. Good on Denon for following the ball in and being switched on to the situation.

Fairly similar performance to Chelmsford and Dagenham but felt like we had a bit more luck on our side this time. Feels like we rarely get moments like that with the first goal and even the rebound falling directly to Camp for the second goal was some good fortune for a change.

I'll be honest, I think Foulkes should do better for their goal. It is a good strike from Chapman but it wasn't hit particularly hard and was nowhere near the top corner. That being said, his save from that corner in the second half was absolutely ridiculous and more than made up for it.

Looked to me Norville-Williams came off late with a groin/hamstring issue although Marc didn't really mention it in the post match so we'll see tomorrow if he's involved.

Great to see Pearson score just 16 seconds in to his debut with an almost identical goal to his one for Weston last season!

Stats:

Possession: Dorking 57% - 43% Ebbsfleet

Shots (OT): Dorking 18 (4) - 9 (3) Ebbsfleet

xG: Dorking 3.38 - 0.75 Ebbsfleet - Our second highest value of the season

Duels: Dorking 47% - 53% Ebbsfleet

Top Performer: Dennon Lewis [8.4]
