Dorking Wandering
The Dorking Wanderers FC Fans Forum
It's that time of year again! We kick off the season this weekend at home to promotion rivals, Dagenham & Redbridge. The Daggers have a couple of ex-Wanderers in the form of Liam Vincent and Davide Rodari, and will be hoping to gain promotion back to the National League this year.
The fitness update from the team showed that Muitt, Pinchard and Gallagher are likely to return in mid-late September with Josh Taylor returning a month or so after that. Isaac Philpot awaits the results of a scan but could be set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Predictions:
Dorking 1-1 Dagenham (Rutherford)
1,589 att.
Morris
Camp Annesley Vincent
Wood Francomb Pybus Lewis
Barrett McShane
Rutherford
Subs: Foulkes, Sayers, Grass, Page(?), Tauta-Caballero, Forster, Nikaj
JP9 wasn't even on the bench for Portchester at the weekend so presumably injured already?

Hyperthetically speaking Rutherford Nikaj and Casey as our striking options, if we play 1 up top or go for 2 strikers with one on the bench I cant imagine any of those three would be happy being a sub especially if the other one/two are in form
@dorking-eagle Carter hasnt featured for Sutton in quite a few weeks either I noticed
@hemelwanderer I saw on his instagram page he was watching in the stands yesterday- must be injured. He did score a couple in pre season
I would like to hope our scouting options for strikers exist beyond just Jason Prior and Pat Casey...
It is fairly normal to have more than 2 strikers in a squad, especially for a side that plays 2 up top like we do. At the backend of last season we had Rutherford, Prior, McCallum and Casey. Jose Marquez before that as well.
A shocker. We were terrible all over the pitch. I do think we miss Pinchard.
I thought the keeper should have saved the goal, but maybe he was unsighted. He was Ok after that though. I didn't rate Wood at all and would have preferred to have seen Lennon on the wing from the start. Barratt looked immobile although he played a couple of good flick one. Alfie looked confused and unsure of his position.
I thought Josh 23 (can't spell his name) looked excellent when he came on so there is a positive there.
So in summary a typical sh1t start to a Wanderers season.

Sounds like it'll be three strikers before Saturday...
