No pubs in sensible walking distance of the ground, but the ground itself has a large clubhouse. 

The ground was massively improved by the owner of 6 or 7 years ago called Glen Tamplin. He was a right character - some say a bit of a shady person, but apparently after a near death experience (I think due to taking drugs!) he turned to Jesus. 

He then massively did up the ground with stands on all four sides, an artificial pitch (it slopes side to side, but not as bad as it did before when it was real grass!) and a very swanky clubhouse with VIP balcony.

Look out for an 'interesting' mural on the back of one of the stands (see link below) - it is a depiction of one of Tamplin's dreams (some say drug induced)) where Billericay goes to Wembley! It even features him in bed with his wife (presumably having the dream!)

He was very certain of his born again Christian faith, and used to have people from the church he went to as pastors at games if you ever wanted to chat about religion.

He used to have a Ferrari totally 'wrapped'  in Billericay FC colours and logos - quire a sight!

Anyway after a few years of their rapid transformation, he left Billericay and bought Romford FC, and made that club a lot more colourful too! A bit of controversy there when he made himself manager and played his 16 year old son, causing a walk out of several players!

Anyway back to Billericay - keep an eye out in the clubhouse for some excellent displays of 1970's memorabilia from when the club DID get to Wembley and win!

I listened to a podcast with Tamplin fairly recently, had a massive cocaine addiction and nearly died a few times

Billericay 1 - 2 Dorking

Definately a case of 2 points dropped today, thought we was by far the better team. All 3 of Billericays goals came out of nothing really and I cant remember them having many other clear cut chances throughout the 90. All 3 of our goals were well taken, we should of really been out of sight. Think Barrett alone had about 4/5 in the first half. Hopefully Rutherfords injury wont be nothing to severe and same with Louis being subbed off.

Yeah frustrating not to see that game out, even after being 2 down. Their equaliser was apparently offside according to Marc.

Had so many chances to score a bucket load. 
I thought Barrett had a very good game today, very keen to try and score- even from corners which he very nearly did on the third attempt.

Yet more injuries to the usual faces, hopefully not too bad. 

I’m a Billericay season ticket holder but thought I’d provide thoughts as an oppo fan.

Firstly your fans were a joy, I spoke to a few before the game and you were nothing but polite and engaging, your players and mangers too actually have very little ego which goes against the stigma against Dorking. Was so pleased with you lot I’ll happily watch you guys even before we play you in the reverse fixture (Linda who is married to the photographer deserves a massive shoutout. Spoke to her before the game and is a credit to you guys).

As the game goes I thought we were the much better team up until our second goal. The bit Marc should be fuming at is not testing our keeper way before your first goal. After we went 2-0 you were much the better team. I think we were a tad lucky to get a point. The goal I can’t tell for certain whether it was or wasn’t offside but even if it was the keeper should do better when coming out like that.

Should've run away with this one really, but not to be. The equaliser was so clearly offside - shocking decision.

Barratt the standout, though thought Dennon looked full of running and energy when he came on - and McShane of course - he's having such a good season.

One side note, thought our support was so quiet initially - not a single chant until about 20 mins in, which was very odd and unusual for us.

Picked up greatly in the second half though. Perhaps it was the hot sun shining on us - and the terrible start that didn't help, but we are usually singing from the off. Actually quite similar at Maidenhead so maybe the sunshine does play a part? No drums either, and less youth than normal too, which might have been down to being such a terrible journey by train.

Pretty much spot on with this summary.  Billericay much the better team for me until McShane came on, whereupon we took control.  Thought he was fantastic, as was Barrett who put in a great shift as well as his touches of quality.  Think it was obvious that Billericay had identified some weaknesses with Morris with their up and under kick offs which seemed to cause some issues and on the 3rd goal, offside as it was, he probably should have done better.  Obviously the injuries upset our planned substitutions but we still looked much the stronger side in the second half.  Still, a point away never to be sniffed at.

 

Definitely was a little quiet to start with. I’m not one to start a chant admittedly but will always join in when it gets going.
I was trying to work out where we were all going to gather for a while , as we had pockets all around the ground right up until KO. Then I saw Mash’s flag go up and we all darted to the other side. 
Nice ground , nice people and decent facilities. The food menu was a million times better than ours and was tasty. Why Dorking don’t do chips anymore is a mystery- surely a football ground staple 

Sorry about the no drum Ade, we were at Fulham v Palace, where the scoreline would've matched the DW one if Fulham had put away their injury time sitter
