The road to Wembley continues as we face fellow NLS side Bath City at Meadowbank this Saturday. This will be our 4th game against Bath in 2025 with the Somerset side currently sitting 18th in the league.

The injury news has become dire as we are without 8 or 9 players this weekend. Patrick Casey arrives on loan from Charlton but Jack Young misses the game after featuring for Farnborough in the previous round. Josh Taylor joins the long term absentee list of Rutherford, Norville-Williams and McManus, while Prior, McShane, Marquez and Moore are also likely sidelined.

Predictions

Dorking 2-1 Bath (Carter, Camp)

1,091 att.

                          Foulkes

             Camp      Storey     Annesley

     Muitt       Pybus        Gallagher      Lewis

                   Carter         Vincent

                            Casey

Subs: Craig, Francomb, McLeod, Sullivan, Hebert, Jacks, Straker

Will be getting stuck into a giant pig in blanket.

Even with all the injuries having Camp,Carter, Muitt and Lewis, I fancy us to get past anyone  at home.

3-1 Carter x 2 , Casey ,

With the ridiculous injury my main hope for this game is to get through it without further casualties. And great to have another forward in the building - let's hope he doesn't get crocked.  Even with a much weakened midfield / forward line we should have enough at home to eek out a win.  1-0.  Lewis.

Not even remotely related to this topic but the game on the last day of the season away at Weston has been changed to 12:30 KO.

@calvertskans What's that about then? I'm ok with this I think - v early start but return at a decent time...

Let's just hope we have the title wrapped up by then 😉

Must be DAZN wanting to televise them all live and simultaneous (outside the Sat 3pm tv blackout)

Well that was disappointing. Scrappy poor quality game it felt at times. Lots of sub par performances from players who are usually 8s and 9s (Carter , Vinny and Lewis). Camp had his usual running battles and the ref was poor at times.
Thought Casey was good first half and could’ve had a couple more , but second half we just couldn’t create anything.
Where was Muitt today? Didn’t think he was on the injured list. Also was Pybus injured again or just a tactical switch?

Not a bad crowd in, little lower than I was expecting- maybe 650-700? The one plus today was the giant pig in blanket, mulled wine and mince pie- couldn’t resist trying.

Agree it was poor, particularly 2nd half where we were restricted to few scoring chances.

Muitt would have really unlocked the attacks on the right wing in that 2nd half.

McShane will undoubtedly be gutted at his penalty efforts, he won't get many more chances to reach Wembley sadly.

Annoyed at yet another early cup exit, another missed opportunity to really get the town excited and behind its football club. Seeing the teams that are still in it, such a frustrating shame.

I'd guesstimate 750 in the ground, a reasonable number when season tickets don't count, it was very cold, and people are absolutely skint with the ridiculous cost of living at the moment.

Just listened to the pre-match interview, where Marc said McShane was on the bench but also wasn't fit enough to be able to come on.

(!!!!!)

Sorry for the triple post, but I see Hornchurch won in the Trophy today (beat Dover 4-1), so therefore our home league game against them on 10th January will presumably be postponed (as that is the date of the next round)

@dorking-eagle That’s a shame , I was looking forward to that game but being such a big one, may help with getting some players back if it’s moved back

Had another look at all the clubs still in it and it would have been such a good competition to still be in, some absolutely belting clubs, stadiums, towns/cities, and matches that there could have been.

Marc is right to consistently bemoan the removal of extra time (before penalties) in this competition. I can only think that the referees didn't want to potentially do 30 minutes extra??? Such a shame, personally I would still have replays.

That is a game where the injuries to first team players has clearly cost us.

I find it bizarre that the official position from Mark is that the number of injuries is unprecedented and just bad luck.

Correct me if I am wrong but we have had 8-10 players out injured also during the 21-22, 22-23, 23-24, and 24-25 seasons.

Something is seriously wrong with what the club is doing with the players and it goes further than just  having to play 90 minutes on that terrible plastic pitch once every 2 weeks and sometimes less.

It’s also bizarre that with fit academy boys on the bench he brings on an ageing old forward he admits came on to limp about (McShane).

That really isn’t something he should be saying, as it will really piss off the academy boys that were on the bench and could have done a better job.

It doesn’t seem like the approach with player management and injury management has improved. As it’s the same as it has been for the past 4 seasons. It’s not bad luck, oh shucks. Let’s be real here.
