The hunt for the 1st round proper continues this weekend away at fellow NLS side Salisbury FC. The Whites were pipped as dark horses in league for this season but are so far winless from their opening 9 games as they sit 23rd in the table on 5 points. The Wiltshire side also includes Wanderers legend Matt Briggs on the wing.

Marc didn't reveal too much in his weekly update when it comes to fitness but the likes of Foulkes, Francomb and McManus are likely all still out for this one. I wouldn't expect to see Camp or possibly even Carter either based on how they came out of the Dagenham game.

Predictions:

Salisbury 1-1 Dorking (Rutherford)

1,362 att.

                    Phillips

      Gallagher  Storey   Vincent

  Muitt      Taylor       Pybus      Lewis

                    McShane

          Rutherford       Prior

Subs: Norville-Williams, Craig, Annesley, Moore, Hebert, 2 x B Team

Whitstable or Flackwell/Bracknell the obvious draw but you would definitely take Chatham, Folkestone, CVPM or Farnham at this stage as well. There are a few of those NLS sides that I wouldn't mind at home either.

I'll predict Southend United (H)

Will take anyone in the leagues below home or away. If it has to be a national league side hopefully Forest Green away

@steve1966 Forest Green away would probably be the hardest possible draw considering they are top of the National League...

If it has to be a NL side it would be Sutton United at home for me (or even away for a top day out and big following)

Prediction though - Totton (A)

Truro away is the one we want to avoid

Farnham would probably be the toughest team we could get from a division below, they have played us several times and know us well, I would be as nervous facing them as I would facing Horsham (who fortunately are out)! They are also very good, well managed and are a very ambitious squad.

Totally get Steve saying about Forest Green, that is the ground I most want too, as it is a former EFL ground that I haven't visited (and looks on course for a return to the EFL too), but as Tom says, would be the hardest possible draw. Plus I remember facing a Robbie Savage team (Macclesfield) from a couple of seasons ago, one of the worst DW performances ever 😖 .

Would quite like an away game though, as Round 4Q is International weekend, wouldn't even be upset with another trip to Truro.

For me a lower league club away would be good, provided it goes to a replay, as the Saturday date clashes with a Crawley game, as with this round. Getting to 1st round would be great for club, so need easiest tie possible. At least I can see replay tomorrow.

WE ARE ball number 28 in the South draw

There are 34 teams in the South draw, including also BRACKLEY, NEEDHAM MARKET, MALDON & TIPTREE and Hemeo OR HEREFORD (who weren't in my initial list)

Strange that Brackley and Banbury are in the south, yet Enfield are in the north. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

As you say very strange. Aveley are even further south than Enfield but in North. Might be due to how split worked in previous rounds (both Aveley and Enfield have replays against more Northern sides. I wonder if the split would have been different if they had won).

Aldershot at H. Not the tie we would have wanted, but at least at home, and should be big crowd.

Aldershot haven't had the best start in the league and currently sit 17th. We also played pretty well against them in the pre-season game at Meadowbank.

These were the teams moved from the Midlands region to the South region for the draw:

Banbury United

Chelmsford City

Hemel Hempstead Town or Hereford

Maldon & Tiptree

Needham Market

St Albans City

Then after Quorn declined a rematch against Enfield, meaning Enfield went through, these two were added to the South:

Enfield Town

Solihull Moors
