The club has bet everything on these 2 having a great season, having no replacements for either off the bench. Single point of failure times 2 is a major issue.

Prior has scored 3 goals so far over our 13 league and cup games and looked so slow and off the pace its a joke.

Meanwhile, with Alfie he has scored 4 goals from the 13 league and cup game so far. He is scuffing basic shots at goal and looks like someone who isn't on the level anymore.

The forwards are not firing given the chances created and the team is plateauing mid table. Do you move both on? What do we do about this?

All the goals being scored now are from other areas despite the avalanche of chances being created for the front 2. Its surely crisis time to change it now? You cannot win games if each of your front 2 are averaging 1 goal every 4 games and you are creating so many chances!!! Surely!!! Or do we just accept this and finish 14th and tell ourselves we played like England in EURO96 every week?

Have heard on the terrace grapevine this very week that the club is actively seeking one on loan who would be good enough for this level, they are working to address this very issue. A step one player was in the frame so I understand. As always we give our support to all what we have in the building.

Exactly we need to give the whole team our support when they pull on the Wanderers shirt. The issue of no back up or other options from the bench should have been addressed earlier, but hopefully Prior's injury has prioritised this problem.

100% agree we need to get a loan striker in, maybe even two. Prior is not giving us anything, other than in the air unfortunatly these days, and even then he is only burrying chances that any striker of a resonable level should be. Marc seems to have a real love for him though which I cant see fading. Would love to see Rutherford back to his best, but he looks so out of sorts I'd rather see him out on the wing at the moment where at least his running might hurt the opposition. If we can get a new striker in and get one of them back to some kind of form we'll be okay but until that happens scoring goals is going to be a real struggle.

What makes the whole thing even more of a shame is that Lewis and Muit (Lewis especially!) are creating chances, and doing a great job out wide, but no quality up top to finish their work off.

Incorrect - Prior has 4 goals (and 2 assists) in 15 appearances in all comps, Rutherford has 7 goals (and 4 assists) in 16 matches.

Prior's role in the side isn't just scoring goals, it is to act as a target man and to play off of. He is also probably the best set piece defender in the team.

Rutherford is obviously going through a little bit of a lean spell but he still looks fairly confident and is generally getting in to good positions. He's only marginally underperforming his xG so the goals should come for him at some point.

The issue isn't the strikers we have, it is the strikers we don't have. There is no rotation off the bench meaning Rutherford and Prior have to play every minute of every game. Competition for places would also help push the players a bit and should see a bit of a higher output.

Agree we need some more options going forward, to relieve the burden and provide back up for injuries and loss of form. The option of playing Lewis down the middle might be worth pursuing, as we have options for left wing - and he looks a very capable channel runner and finisher.  Prior is outstanding at the back defending set pieces, but perhaps with Annesley, Story, Camp and Craig we have a bit more cover there, or should have. He is not hovering at the back post and burying crosses like he used to and still should be able to do, even with older legs. I think Alfie is just going through a lean spell; he is making runs and getting chances but just does not seem as confident as usual in finding the net.

Good to hear the rumours of some fresh legs in the forward department on loan. I am sure Marc and co know the problem.
