Probably a bit early after last nights debacle, but have any pre-season games been pencilled in yet.

I'll have a Guinness

@jacksonfairweather Gibraltar have 5 more world cup qualifiers, then 2 Nations league games before end of season.  That doesn't include any friendlies he maybe called up for.  He also won't just fly in and out for the games and will be in training camps leading up to games ruling him out of Dorking games. He's doing it because it's the country he represents, I don't think any international player does it for them money..A quarter of Dorkings games then is not far off

If on International duty then it starts on the Monday morning, so potentially miss a midweek club game, a weekend club game then the following midweek club game.

So depending on how club fixtures fall, it can be 3 club games missed for the sake of 2 internationals.

It's the country he represents and has been representing since March 2015. If they had a Euro or World Cup fixture against England at Wembley then anyone would be like wow, what an experience - I guess if that's your country that you have played for for years, then every international game is a big honour

Annesley out for 4-6 weeks unfortunately but McManus injury not as bad as feared and will likely feature this weekend. McShane and Gallagher back for the final pre-season game against Farnham.

On the topic of Annesley missing games due to international fixtures, he will certainly miss the FA Cup 4th round qualifying round (if we make it) and possibly also the 2nd round qualifying as well. In terms of other games, I would expect him to miss Totton home, Maidenhead home (if we don't make FA Cup 4th quali round), Hemel home and our first FA Trophy match.

Amazing turn around from Niall. In the training photo just posted on twitter he looks to be running with power. Didn't see that coming.

@dorking-eagle Pleased about that. He's looked really good back in his natural position. Full of running and probably what we need with the likes of Josh and Charlie doing their stuff...

Felt Aldershot were far the better side in the first half today. We were set up weirdly with only 2 at the back (Craig and Camp). Francomb was playing far too forward in attacking midfield, and Vincent tried to cover as left back, but beaten a number of times.  Rutherford and Carter not at their best. We looked better in second half when Norville Williams, Storey and the youngsters came on particularly Herbert who looked a handful. Moore had a shocker, continually losing the ball in midfield, and Prior was missing in action. I forgot he came on at half-time - clearly not fit and should not have been given such a long holiday.

Have both Louis Storey and Jake Lawrence signed, but not announced officially yet? Both names were on the squad list and their names announced when they came on.

Couldn't disagree more. Thought we looked excellent up until their first (offside) goal and should have been a couple up at that point - at least. Some superb pass and move stuff.

Good again second half too. Game faded after that (usual for a friendly).

Agree with Marc's post match completely; we were much the better side for the first 20 mins or so but then started to lose a bit of control. I agree that we were set up in a strange way and we looked very vulnerable on the break in that back 2/4 system, especially without JNW in the side. Sounds like Marc was just trying to trial some new patterns though.

Second half was a similar story where we much the better side for the first 20-30 mins of it before the game sort of drifted towards the end.

FYI, first Barrett goal was definitely onside.

I agree with AdeB the first half was pretty decent; lots of good breaks down the flanks and some decent half-chances created. The playing out from the back was also ok, with Charlie and Pybus looking to make space to receive the ball. Vincent needed a bit of cover behind him and we looked vulnerable on the break, but on the plus side Muitt looked very sharp and Lewis offered an option of running in behind, even if he didn't get great through balls.

Second half I though Aldershot controlled much of the game as it all became disjointed. Of the subs, I thought Hebert looked promising, always keen to receive the ball and link the play. In general, the quality of crossing wasn't quite there - or forwards weren't on the end of them. Not a bad run out, but was very much had the feel of the pre-season friendly it was, so hard to draw any conclusions.

The first Barrett goal was a standard 2v2 situation on the break. Where Camp goes to the ball and doesn’t scan his shoulder and cover Barrett leaving Barrett completely free with no one marking him.

All Camp needs to do is cover the ground in between Barrett and where Craig is and that isn’t a goal. Just poor defending and it was onside as you say.

For the second goal Barrett is able to run a long way with the ball, tea it up on his left foot and have a free shot at goal from 18 yards. More bad defending

Bad defending costs you games.
