Probably a bit early after last nights debacle, but have any pre-season games been pencilled in yet.

Won 3-0 at Sholing. Sounds like lots of fouls according to post match interview. According to Marc, hopefully McShane and Gallagher will be back for start of season, but McManus injured today and may be out for few weeks. Youngsters apparently did well today and Herbert was one of the scorers. Anyone went? Confirmed Walton game postponed as no longer needed.
Yeah went. Very physical game, Niall went off injured quite early on. The two triallists featured again and the 31 year old defended was very good again.
No sign of Jason Prior (again) which was a surprise as it's not too far from where he lives, not sure this is a great look, a lot of fans getting a rather disappointed by his elective no participation thus far. Beautiful cross to Alfie's head for a goal which JP9 would have loved to have got on the end of.
Hebert was very good in my opinion, and a lot of minutes for Mooro again after Niall went off.
Overall feeling optimistic for a strong season ahead, although the core 1st team squad feels a bit small.

Yeah, another decent performace and some good goals mixed in as well. Only real downside was the injury to McManus which didn't look good at all. Rutherford looked the best player on the pitch and Lewis excelled again in that forward role.
Marc seemed to suggest that Prior would be back for Aldershot this week along with McShane and that Gallagher will be back for Farnham. Annesley told me he thinks he will be out for 3-4 weeks depending on results of the scan.
So prior possibly back on Saturday. Hopefully see a bit of effort from him after his extra time off.
He certainly wouldn’t of been given it if I was managing the team

Will be interesting to see who makes the starting XI for that first game away at Chippenham. Prior is only going to have two pre-season games before then and considerably less training time so he would be a doubt. Obviously Annesley and McManus are likely to miss the game and McShane and Gallagher have only played one pre-season match so far as well.
I imagine it will be something like:
Foulkes
Camp Craig JNW
Muitt Francomb Vincent
Taylor Carter
Rutherford Lewis
@calvertskans Strong side that - and more likely to be a flexible style too - less reliance on crosses, more interplay in the area. Plenty of goal threat too.
Only change I'd make from a fully fit squad would probably be McManus in for Francomb (though he's had a great pre-season so far) and Annesley for Craig.
Tony Craig is completely finished surely. Did anyone see his performances at the back of last season? Not being harsh but starting him as a CB, sets up for serious failures. He is a severe weak link, sorry. If you have one CB it surely needs to be someone who can turn and run? Especially after 60 minutes in the second half.

@steve1966 Very good point, I had forgotten about that. Makes that first line-up interesting as Lewis will likely have to play on the right. Prior or McShane can start up top if fit but if not then Carter might have to start there with Moore in midfield.
Didn't Tony Craig play in nearly every game last year and won one of the Player of the Season awards? Admittedly not a long term prospect for the future but the earlier comment about being 'absolutely finished' seems way too harsh.
I might be wrong but I reckon from Marc's interviews that they might default to a back 4 this season. They seemed to play a kind of 4 3 3 against Leatherhead for a while, albeit with very high full backs.
Muitt, Lewis and Rutherford could play as the attacking three. The issue is the paucity of recognised centre backs with this formation though, especially with Annesley injured.
In any case, I think we can expect more fluidity in the formation this season.
Tony got the manager's award I think?
He's a very professional guy in terms of his fitness and prep, a strong role model. Not the fastest at getting back in a hurry if we defend high and then the oppo counter attack, but I think he has a lot to offer.
I would think Louie would start the lion's share of games ahead of him, but Tony will definitely have games to play, at the start of the season for example!

@jacksonfairweather That is a crazy comment. TC was clearly the best player at the club last season and hardly put a foot wrong. The only game I saw him have a poor day was Surrey Senior Cup final but he was far from the only one. A model professional who still has more than a part to play
TC will have to play lots of games next season just due to the fact Louie will be away from the team for roughly a quarter of the seasons games due to international call ups. They won't postpone Dorking games due to us having a player away on international duty! IMO we will still need to add extra cover at the back just because of that.
@te999 Gibraltar has about 8 games a season, and only about 2 of them where they have a chance of winning. Why is he missing 12 games of our season for that?
Also Gibraltar? Unless he is getting wedged with money for that why is he doing it.
