Probably a bit early after last nights debacle, but have any pre-season games been pencilled in yet.

Yes, Triallist A was at your other club last season! Not sure about the policy to name names, but I don't think it would be particularly appreciated by the club, so probably best to leave it!

On a separate note, we really should be seeing Jason Prior at Sholing on Saturday, it's not far from where he lives along the South coast. He should want to get 45 minutes in with the season three and a half weeks away.

Great display, we're looking very strong as a squad of players and fitness levels clearly well up on last season already.

Interesting to see Niall get lots of minutes in his proper position - he looks in great form - could he be a 'surprise' regular (given the quality we have elsewhere in midfield)?

@adeb

The strongest lineup for us is probably something like this.

            Foulkes

Camp-Annesley- Williams

---------Pybus-----------

Muitt-Taylor- Carter- Vincent

---------JP9-Rutherford----

I can definitely see Niall getting minutes especially as a replacement for Pybus. Clearly Pybus has done something to piss Mark off as he has not featured much at all this year.

@jacksonfairweather Pretty sure Pybus had a fairly serious achilles/tendonitis issue for most of last season. When he returned towards the end of it, he obviously wasn't match fit so was unlikely to feature much considering we were chasing the title. He also suffered a muscle injury when on that month loan to Hemel which delayed his return even further.

I believe they are still managing his route back to playing regularly and limiting his minutes so far this pre-season.

@jacksonfairweather Good line up.

An alternative would be McShane in for Prior sitting up with Alfie, and Dennon for Jimmy on the right. That would give us a different look (probably less direct in a way, less reliant on crosses into the box, more interplay in the area) - and mix things up a bit.

Annesley 4-6 weeks FFS

Macca weakness in his ACL

Gallagher bit of a mystery

Really don't need any more injuries!

@dorking-eagle It's Annesley that's the biggest frustration. Does that mean it's back to TC?

I was really looking forward to a ball playing centre half as it's what we've been crying out for. Anyone in the Academy / B team getting close in this respect?

That’s extremely disappointing, but hopefully be back for the Slough/Hemel games .

Anyone know why Walton and Hersham has been cancelled ?

Walton haven't even announced cancellation yet, so no idea. Wonder what club will do for those who bought 3 for 2 bundle like me? Sensible thing would to be try arrange a replacement match.

Pure guesswork but I wonder if it's due to our small squad size and not wanting any more injuries, especially from our rubbish pitch?

@dorking-eagle I thought that too. Aldershot I’m sure will be a feisty game so maybe Marc is thinking we don’t need another one thrown in

Walton game was cancelled to avoid further injuries so I would not expect a replacement.

I was actually thinking before that 7 pre-season games seemed too many and runs the risk of further players getting injured before the start of the season. Especially with the heat that the players have been playing and training in so far.

Not sure that anyone on here went to the open training session

For pre season stuff in football its the best thing I've ever been to! It was fascinating watching the drills the player go through in training.

The highlights were what I can only describe as a rolling 5-a-side. 3 teams and if you concede your team go of,f non stop all about the press. Amazing to see them move the ball about a pace on 30 metre pitch. Then a drill as an 11 moving the ball around a press moving the ball quickly from defence to midfield.

The take home is clearly we are going to try and move the ball about faster season.

I will email the club to thank them, I thought it was brilliant - and if they run it next season do try and get along. And if its out of term time if you kids they would have great access to players

I did think it could have easily been the last week of July, when the kids are on school hols. But perhaps DW are trying to minimise the time they are on the 3G pitch nearer to the start of the season?
