Dorking Wandering
The Dorking Wanderers FC Fans Forum
Back at Meadowbank yet again as we face local rivals Farnborough tomorrow. The Hampshire side currently sit in the relegation zone on goal difference and have picked up just the one win in their last 5 matches.
The weekly update announced that Casey has gone back to Charlton for tests on his hamstring injury, but the hope is that he will only be out for a week or so. Alfie Rutherford returns to the squad from his recent hamstring injury.
Predictions:
Dorking 4-2 Farnborough (McCallum, Lewis, Muitt, Rutherford)
1,621 att.
A bit tricky to predict the XI for this one due to the Casey injury. Will Marc choose to go with both McCallum and Prior considering how many midweek games we have coming up? I wouldn't expect them to risk Rutherford from the start but they could play McShane up top with one of them.
Foulkes
Camp Annesley Norville-Williams
Muitt Gallagher McManus Lewis
McShane
McCallum Prior
Subs: Craig, Francomb, Vincent, Knight, Sidwell, Moore, Rutherford
I will go for 2-0, Lewis and McShane. Hopefully will get a good attendance with cheap U18 prices and dry day predicted: 1,541 attendance. Will be happy with 4 points from next 2 games, as next Tuesday will be a hard game. Able to go to both games so looking forward to a win and a good performance.
Dorking (3) 4 Farnborough (1) 2 McCallum (3), Camp
1,604 (125 Farnborough)
Really hoping for a decent attendance, Farnborough should bring a lot of support, albeit half of them will probably try to get in on an U18 ticket...
I don't know if their goalkeeper Jack Turner will play or not, he keeps asking to leave them (!) and it has reached a bit of a stalemate as I understand it
Hoping for some aerial assault by JP9, and maybe a late cameo from a returning Alfie! COYW.

Some game that, wouldn’t even know where to start.
The euphoria of the comeback somewhat dampened post match by losing Macca, Muitt, P Mac for what Marc said were season ending injuries. I also didn’t realise Casey was done for the season too.
The sight of Charlie and Pybus bouncing in the Bank was at least a positive, Marc said a week to ten days for both of those
My thoughts from today in no particular order
Mental game, but I never felt worried that we wouldn't come back even though 2-0 down early on.
11 games now where we have scored at least 2 goals.
The recent injuries though threaten all the hard work to fight our way to the top
Charlton will probably keep hold of Casey to fully manage his recovery
McCallum gets a goal then a serious injury - gutted
Muitt potentially a fracture 🙁 McShane injured AGAIN 🙁
Prior and Rutherford again for the forseeable by the looks of it
New signing on the way, might need some loans as well
Think Sidwell has been very quiet last 2 games whereas George Knight looks much more imposing, I would start with Knight in the next game.
Frankie Vincent was also an excellent sub
Some Farnborough fans are just pathetic, vile abuse given to Dennon Lewis, non league football shouldn't be like that
Shame the MOTM award didn't go to Dennon purely to make a point to their fans!
He who laughs last though....Marc really celebrated at the end and rightly so
Half term week now, hopefully a lot more than 800 Wanderers through the door this time round for 1st v 3rd on Tuesday night - discounted kids tickets apply
So pleased for the loyal Wanderers players who stuck by the club after the last relegation and still have a contribution to make, Niall's never ending running, Alfie's cleverness and Mooro's late cameo.
Top of the league. Enjoy the rest of your weekend Wanderers.

I agree on Knight starting too. He was so vocal when he came on, encouraging the other players and directing play.
I really wanted Dennon to score but he did assist so that’s something. Not sure what kicked it all off, I only saw the pint throwing. Some of their fans on Facebook said he assaulted an away fan and should’ve been sent off?!
Apparently Dennon reacted to some vile abuse directed at him by pushing the fan and then got beer chucked at him. Not how non league football should be. Any football.
A great open game after the dour fare on Tuesday and likewise I was always confident that there were goals to be scored out there. Fantastic come back win.
How unlucky is that to lose 4 forwards in a week? Just as well Alfie is back and looking sharp. JP will have to put a shift in now. But we will miss Jimmy. Maybe OLBG will help out again to bring some new faces in.
Midfield was poor. But DG and Niall - for all their strengths - are not forward passers. Made such a difference when Vincent came on. And I agree that Knight has to start now. Will need a solid defence over next couple of games - all 3 played really well again so hopefully that will be a good platform for rest of season.
Annesley really has made himself a fixture in the team, will be a PITA when he has to go away to play for Gibraltar in March.
Unbelievable there are Farnborough followers on social media (anonymous of course, cowards that they are) justifying the vile personal family related verbal abuse they gave to Dennon. Absolute whataboutery from them in their warped justifications. Ridiculous he had to play on the other wing for the last part of the first half to avoid having more stuff thrown at him.
Only fair that Farnborough fans had their pitchside drinking privileges removed for the second half to prevent any more incidents.
The police presence inside the ground was sadly quite appropriate. If they go down to the Southern League it will do us all a favour.

Great second half come back and crackimg goal from McShane in first half. However, poor defending for all 3 goals conceded. Agree with Marc that actions from some of Farnborough fans were unacceptable and hopefully we won't be in the same League as them next season.
Real shame with injuries to McShane, McCullum and Muitt. Crawley have 3 players not named in EFL squad which would be good on loan here: midfielders Anthony Papadopoulos (been on loan at Maidstone) and Reece Brown, plus ex captain and defender, now out of favour, Dion Conroy.
All new players welcome! And right to flag that goal by Macca - one of the best this season for sure.
Can anyone explain the drop ball law? It’s happened two matches in a row now: play is stopped when we have the ball in attacking position (head injury & second ball on pitch) and is restarted with the keeper having the ball. Baffling. So any fan can lob a ball on when their team is under pressure and get the game stopped and secure possession??! Have I missed something here? 🤷🏻♂️
