A third straight Tuesday night game as we travel to the Sussex coast to face Eastbourne Borough. The Sports have had a tough campaign so far as they currently sit 23rd in the table on 28 points. However, they did pick up a big 3 points at the weekend as they beat our title rivals Torquay United 4-2 at Priory Lane.

Marc announced that 2 new signings will be revealed today (one loan, one perm) which will give a much needed boost to the depleted squad. Brennan Camp and George Knight both face suspensions but those don't kick in until this weekend. Niall McManus is also now a doubt after picking up a knee injury at Maidstone. There was no news on the return dates of Carter, Pybus or Gallagher.

Predictions:

Eastbourne 2-2 Dorking (Rutherford, Sidwell)

947 att.

                        Foulkes

   Camp     Annesley     Craig    Norville-Williams

                Knight        Sidwell

     Enslin            Moore            Lewis

                      Rutherford

Subs: Francomb, Vincent, New, Grass, Sullivan, New, Prior

Most complete player in the league apparently - Gloucester fans gutted at the timing of it

Based on the new signings and general uplift from that...

Eastbourne (0) 1 Dorking (1) 3 (Rutherford, Enslin, Pinchard)

1,001 (180 Wands)

Expect Eastbourne to be on a high after Saturdays result, I would realistically take a point with the injuries and fatigue. 2-2

I would also take a point tonight but I think this might be where the teams hits a wall finally.  Fatigue, injuries and trying to fit in new faces, must at some point take its toll. We haven’t had a bad day at the office for ages, Eastbourne full of confidence and energy. All the ingredients are there. Hope I am wrong, but I reckon Eastbourne 3-1.

Having said that, am excited to see Kai and other new signings bring some extra quality and energy so hoping to make it down there tonight.
Pinchard sounds a great bit of business and view from Sutton on Vincent is he has a decent left foot and a long throw.  Hats off to the club for acting so quickly to plug the gaps.

Well, very happy to get it completely wrong. Never write off the Wanderers!

Really good performace and held out quite comfortably after Alfie’s brilliant goal. Jordan and whole defence excellent again. Kai caused havoc in first half.  I didn’t see any injuries eiither. First win down here I can recall too.

Other results could hardly have gone better. Again.  Roll on Saturday 💪

Very good win tonight at a ground I have never seen us win at before

Alfie has a really good game and it was great to have some exciting talent on the bench

Vital big save by Foulkes again late on

8pts clear ole ole

Benice to have a huge home crowd on Saturday

What a result - again!

So many outstanding performances, especially in defence, and so many positives. Kai is gonna be a star!

Great away support from us once again - and shout out to Eastbourne for thier noisy young support, great noise from them throughout, regardless of the score and result. No dickheads either, which is quite an achivement these days, just boisterous kids.

I was a little confused why they stayed behind the opposite goal to the one they were attacking first half, but having myself gone down the other end in the second half, completely understood - probably the worst bit of 'terracing' I've seen - why is it set so far back from the goal? Very hard to create an atmosphere and see the game at the same time.

Not sure on the ground tbh, plenty of cover but all round but the viewing experience is pretty bad.

3 sides of that ground are fairly good, but there are a few design comprimises Ade

The near end I guess is all one development - so the terracing is set back so that it is underneath those 'boxes' and covered. That terraced bit gives a rotten view though because people stand along the front pitchside rail

In some respects it's a bit like Horsham in that all the main facilities are at the near end that you come in at...toilets, bars, food.

We have a similar layout at Dorking with most stuff close together - if any improvements happen at Meadowbank then having some sort of food and drink offering on the dugouts side (maybe near the Lampard Stand?) would be useful so that there isn't such a big walk for people furthest from the facilities?

The announcement on Monday about their fans taking advantage of student or U18 tickets was an odd one because a sizeable amount of their active support would probably be genuinely eligible for those prices, and it seemed like sour grapes from EBFC to complain at fans getting the cheap prices

If Dennon does have a groin issue then it didn't show, solid shift IMO

Hiya, hope my peaceful intrusion is welcome. In regards to the comments about EBFC being sour grapes in reference to the ticket shenanigans. I think the motive behind people using under 18 tickets is due to the elevated pricing of 20 pounds. Not uncommon at this level but being as we're a tidy step 2 club and not a giant like Torquay it's a bit much. Especially as the football has been dire this season.

And not to mention our ceo putting off fans, had security check all our fans flags for some reason.

But on yesterday's game, I thought both sides have gave excellent account of themselves. Decision making cost us and that Dorking experience and "knowhow" was just a bit too powerful for the Sports.

If we play like that weekly we'll pick up results and dare I say stay up

Thought both sets of fans were brilliant and in high spirit throughout the 90.

Really hope you guys go up and Dorking are mostly everyone's "2nd" team with the success of Boa.

Best of luck for the season and will be looking out for your results

Welcome along to the forum, and I have no beef with your fans, who got behind their team with great enthusiasm and on another day could have got a late equaliser

As we said after we played Chippenham recently, play like that every week and you'll be safe.

If people want to swerve paying £20 a game then buy in advance for £17 would be my answer, however it sounds like your ceo might be a tad oversuspicious of your fans - who refreshingly were alright.

@sussex-sport-fan Hi! And welcome. We do like to get other fans views on here too.

Agreed on all points, thought you were very decent, and tried to play football too. Reckon you might be ok.

Shout out to your 'youth' following too, kept singing througout, even when behind and after the final whistle - and no dickheads either which was a bonus.

Eastbourne 2-2 Dorking (Rutherford, Sidwell)

So close! Glad to be wrong though 😆

An almost surprisingly good performance, especially first half. Probably should have been 2 or 3 up after 30 mins or so. As Marc said, not a great start to the second but we did well to not panic, and to score again almost straight away was really crucial.

Norville-Williams and Annesley superb yet again and definitely Dennon's best game in a little while. Really excited to see more of Enslin; if his finishing was a bit better he would probably already be in and around that Charlton first team.

Going to be a big test on Saturday against a very in form Chesham side, regardless of their result last night. No Camp will be a big loss and if Francomb is still injured then I am really not sure what direction we go with for that position. I guess Annesley will have to go to the right side and TC in the middle?

Hopefully we can integrate Pinchard and Vincent a bit more this week and it also sounds like we might see the return of Carter in some form this weekend!
