The first of 3 midweek games in a row as we face newly promoted Dover Athletic on the road tomorrow night. The Whites currently sit 8th in the table on 17 points having played a couple of extra games but are winless in their last five.

Marc announced in his update today that we will be without 8 or 9 players tomorrow which suggests that a few might have picked up injuries on Saturday, including Jason Prior. Impossible to predict a line-up without knowing who else is injured but I assume Camp might be one as he limped off on Saturday.

Predictions:

Dover 0-1 Dorking (Rutherford)

935 att.

                          Foulkes

Francomb    Annesey    Storey    Norville-Williams

                  Taylor           Moore

      Muitt            McShane           Lewis

                        Rutherford

Subs: L.Sullivan, Craig, Vincent, T.Sullivan, McManus, Hebert, Straker

Pybus has got to be the biggest drain on club money we have ever had for no return. Should of got rid of him last season or start of this season at least and freed up some valuable cash which could have helped in this situation. Big clear out required at the end of the season to try and resolve this injury nightmare, bored of hearing about it season upon season.

We should still win this, I'm going 0-2 with a Lewis brace.

Hopefully a win but I’ll predict a score draw, 1-1

By the looks of where we are, which is at a low point, and where they are which is midtable form and happy with it.

This one has a 1-1 draw written all over it.

Wildcard is that he starts with some kids who tear it up, otherwise I do not see how we have the speed in the team to cut them open and score more than 1 goal. The likely team will include only Alfie as a recognised striker and the lad is struggling at the moment.

With all the current injuries and poor form I would take a point. 1-1

Main target in the game has to be a clean sheet, get that and whatever else happens is a great bonus considering the players missing.

Very long spells of the game where DW were on top, took a lot of guts, hard work and resilience to get back in it twice, but more than good value for the point.

Harrison looked nervous first half but really got it together at half time. Hopefully the point earned will be important at the end of the season. After conceding so early and with such a limited choice of players it was very good to see so much fight in the team.

What a palavar getting in and out of the ground though, such a faff of a route the long way round and up that hill, when there were a couple of quicker and easier routes that would have been possible! And no beer on the ground for those who would have spent good money! No idea why our circa 100 - 110 fans were subjected to that, as so much else about the place was decent - nice ground, pitch, programme, volunteers etc.

Nothing against segregation, although the hill climb was OTT, if Dover had presold tickets then they would have seen only 100 max were coming and not sent the fans around Mount Everest!

Proper end to end contest, first half dominated the opening period, then first attack by Dover and they score. Could have been 2-0 but for the intervention of the post. All the while though Dorking were technically stronger and crafting real quality chances that perhaps were over elaborate.

Second half when I thought Dorking would tire, there was a renewed effort and real battling qualities, wave after wave of attacks were rewarded.

Moment of the game for me was Josh Taylor brilliantly turning a Dover defender and setting up the second equaliser, showing the brilliance we have in the team.

Was a bit nervy when Dover took forever to make a triple sub late on and hugely timewasted claiming cramp etc - for those last few minutes they then had a renewed energy and I did worry about a late smash and grab by them.

All in all a very entertaining game, two teams who played to their strengths to try and win.

Marc's comments very honest, balanced and realistic regarding the challenges and where we are currently. Long way to go and I think the team will soon be looking up the table and getting back to more wins.

Apart from the mountainous approach for segregated away fans, a very decent ground for the level, the raised terrace gave a good view rather than being pitch level, and you can see with all the seats it has had history in the Conference, just a shame the club couldn't have let Bunch of Amateurs in to show it off and show off a real ding dong of a match, as well as the club itself. Dover are a few odd decisions off the pitch away from being a real breath of fresh air in the division.

I am guilty of being pessimistic about the Wanderers recently but I can't really see where the "excellent" performance was last night. First half I thought we were poor and although there were some bright sparks, Louie being back and Josh Taylor's performance, I think if it wasn't for Josh literally deciding that he was going to turn the game around by himself then it ends much worse than that. Dover must have hit the woodwork 2 or 3 times?

Also, no surprise that when we moved to a back 4 we did gain a lot more control in the game and looked a far better version of ourselves.

I thought our second half performance was outstanding. Like the Wanderers of old pouring forward - and so much skill in the final third, demonstrating the technical ability we have now. Only one team was going to win that imo.

Re the segregation - I heard it was on Police advice following crowd trouble/incidents after Ebbsfleet and Aldershot, which seems ridiculous as there was hardly likely to be any bother last night -  but I think Tom C might be able to confirm that. A steward also told me it's the first time they've segregated this season!

It was an excellent game from a neutral perspective but mostly because both teams had absolutely no interest in defending. On another night that honestly could have been 7-7! Considering the light numbers, the surprisingly poor pitch and the fact it was our third away game in a row, it was definitely a point I'm happy we got.

Decent start to the game where we really should have been 1-0 up with those Rutherford and McShane chances. Fell behind to their first actual attack but responded fairly well and created a good amount of half chances for the next 10 mins or so. The final 20-25 mins of that first half was really poor though as the Dover forwards were just walking round our defence at times and creating chances at will. It wouldn't have been a stretch to say that we could/should have been 4-1 down at HT.

Second half was the complete opposite though and was really good to see the fight that has been mostly missing late in matches so far this season. Josh Taylor was absolutely immense and very much carried the team on his back through most of the game. Some great second half performances from Muitt, Vincent, Camp and Moore as well.

Conceding goals is actually becoming a bigger problem than scoring them at the moment though. We only have 2 clean sheets in 17 games this season and something doesn't look quite right with the balance of the back 3. I really think we should be looking at a back 4 for now, especially away from home, or possibly getting Annesley in the middle instead of Storey. I also think that a defensive midfielder is a massive priority as the likes of Pybus, Gallagher and Francomb are perpetually injured.

Although we look a much better side at home this season, I think Torquay and Maidenhead will be a big challenge over the next week. Hopefully we can get a few of those players back as we will need as many numbers as possible.

The team has some serious issues with it and most of the supporters and the manager doesn’t see it. We will of course see over the next 4-5 games, based on results where these lads really measure up. Then it’s time to potentially make difficult decisions around who stays and who goes.

We are conceding way too many goals. Their second goal was a joke. Why is Tony Craig at 40 years old in a foot race with a fast 27 year old Dover striker who can do back flips? And the nearest player to him is Storey. Surely move either Camp or Norville-Williams over to mark him? There are 3 back there at that point, it’s basic organisational skills. Or does the management team not allow them to make these adjustments?

Also watching the extended highlights it’s clear Dover had their fair share of chances despite limited possession hitting the woodwork 3 times. The Dover manager was gutted to have not won the game.

Josh Taylor was our MOM for his dogged determination to fight until the end.

To what extent has the new S&C made a difference to the team fitness this season?

If I am taking a wild guess the number of injuries at this stage this season is higher than last season. He was brought in to make us fitter, and to be direct here we are less fit, and last season was shit for fitness too.

Could we just sack him off and bring in another player next month? I assume he is on £50,000 per year, can get a really good player for that money.
