First half very dominant. Bourne were very soft in the tackle, Dorking's strong first half line up looked very sharp but perhaps due to most DW players knowing they were only on for 45 mins against a step 4 side

Second half, remainder of the squad got minutes. Bourne very slow to our quickly taken corners.

Dennon Lewis the stand out of the 3 new players for me, but against step 4 players so difficult to judge anything really.

Enjoyable game played in the right spirit, nice to catch up with friends.

Fixtures out midweek.

Good performance and a good runout for everyone. We looked much better than we have at the start of previous pre-seasons so seems like the extra fitness work has been working out well.

Vincent probably my man of the match with 2 goals and 1 assist but lots of good performances across the park and all 3 new lads slotted in really well.

Bourne probably not the best step 4 opposition we've ever faced but a great little club and really nice ground for that level. This weekend against Barnet will be a much tougher test you would imagine...

An excellent start - plenty of sides fail to dispatch opposition 2 levels below in pre-season, so credit due.

I thought the style of play was a real step up too - less reliance on constant crosses into the box, more interplay centrally and in the area. Worked well with McShane/Rutherford too. Very impressive.

As others say, the fitness is starting to show already. I spoke to Rob Tuvey afterwards, and his aim is to be the fittest squad in the league. I like that.

Was Prior there? Or is he still on holiday

@steve1966 No, he was the only one not there. Pybus was there but didn't play.

Marc said in the post match that they have a different arrangement with Prior.

I think that's fair enough too. Jason is quite mature and sensible and wouldn't be anywhere near a piss up, let alone one several hours away.

If anyone else scores 100+ goals for the club they can opt out of daft trips like this too!

I get all that, but surely they are a team, therefore for the sake of morale he should have at least been there.
You only have to look at the Truro away game last season. Everybody was on the coach except him. He made his own way there.
I just think he needs to be more of a team person, especially as he is classed as one of the senior professionals.
Just my opinion, as I think certain individuals shouldn’t get preferential treatment

The club is still in transition in many respects - there are still players who are also working as plumbers, accountants, posties and the like. It's not all 100% footballers yet.

To be honest I am surprised the likes of Tony Craig (and until last season) Barry Fuller joined in with all that malarkey. They are 40 year olds who need to be super disciplined to remain competitive playing against 20-somethings.

Didn't Sutton United have a player still also working as a taxi driver during their first EFL season?

I can say with some certainty that the players behaviour that evening was exemplary.... 😉

Just got my 3 for 2 pre season pass, which is excellent value.  Looking forward to seeing team play later this month.
