Dorking Wandering
The Dorking Wanderers FC Fans Forum
Our playoff run starts tomorrow in Hertfordshire as we face Boreham Wood at Meadow Park. The Wood finished one place above us in 5th but level on 86 points in the regular season. The hosts are the form team in the league winning all 6 matches since we beat them at the end of March.
Marc announced in his update this morning that Francomb and Gallagher are both doubts after picking up knocks. It will be interesting to see who partners Josh Taylor in midfield if both are out of the game.
Predictions
Boreham Wood 2-1 Dorking (Carter)
1,938 att (381 away)
Foulkes
Camp Craig Milsom
Muitt J.Taylor Moore McManus
Carter
Prior Rutherford
Subs: Gallagher, Norville-Williams, McShane, Briggs, Murphy
I'd like to see Williams and/or Jack Young involved here - their energy will be much needed. And we are sorely missing a left winger atm.
Borehamwood (0) 0 Dorking W (0) 1 Rutherford

@adeb Yeah i'd like to see Williams involved but I just don't see it happening (unless Francomb and Gallagher are both definitely out) considering he hasn't played in a few weeks now.
I also don't think we'll see Young again this season except for possibly in a Surrey Senior Cup game.
I’m hoping to see JNW play in front of Milsom at LB tomorrow to provide that missing balance. And agree on Williams in midfield too.
Will be tight no doubt. 0-1 Wanderers win.
@adeb Agree, do not think you can start with Moore and McManus in the same midfield 4 when you have Milson in the back 3.
The team lacks that youthful energy off the ball. Going to be a struggle in transition without a Young or Norville Williams in there.
1-1 and penalties I think.
I'll have a Guinness
Extra time first from what I could find online

Last season, Braintree against Bath (in the eliminator) went to extra time (in which Braintree won 1-0)
Indeed, Braintree went all the way and won promotion. And barring a 13-0 defeat on the last day, will stay up too!

Some may remember that we went to Extra Time in a certain NLS play-off final ourselves not that long ago...
@calvertskans I remember 3 extra times. 2022 against Ebbsfleet, but twice in 2017 Semi-final against Hastings won 4-3 on penalties and final against Corinthian Casuals won 5-4 on penalties. These two only being 4 days apart

PS - Supporter coach to Borehamwood now sold out
Train is an easy option from Redhill. The 1700 from Redhill will get you to Elstree and Borehamwood by 18:15 changing at Farringdon

Sorry no idea what those subs were about. Why bring Murphy on and then sub him off 10 minutes later when your team is running on fumes in terms of running? I think that was a truly bat shit insane decision that cost the team today from 3-1 up to 4-3 loss. This is a do or die game.
Gutting and the manner of it makes it a million times worse. Won’t hear the end of that result now.
Crap last few games and end to the season.

Yes really poor end of season, again conceding late goals have cost us. National League South will also be harder next year as looks like Ebbsfleet, plus two of Dagenham, Wealdstone and Maidenhead will be in League as only one Northern team likely to be relegated.
Maidenhead would go into the NLN wouldn’t they, like Oxford did last year. Agree yeah, would be some tough fixtures. Chuck in Horsham too.
I know might be a little reactionary but I’m hoping Marc and JB will seriously look at the squad and move some of the players on now. And give Carter whatever he wants to stay another season
