Fourth time lucky at the 4th Qualifying Round? We face national league rivals Aldershot Town at Meadowbank this Saturday in a bid to make the First Round proper for the first time.

Both teams have a fair few injuries and if all our injured players do miss the game on Saturday then we will only have 12 fit senior players by my count. Harrison Foulkes returns from injury but Louie Annesley misses the game due to international duty with Gibraltar.

The Aldershot team includes former Wanderer Josh Brooking but he will miss the game with a long term injury.

Predictions:

Dorking 2-2 Aldershot Town (Prior, Rutherford)

2,472 att.

                          Foulkes

         Francomb   Storey  Norville-Williams

     Muitt        Moore         Vincent       Lewis

                          McShane

                   Prior          Rutherford

Subs: Craig, Camp, Sullivan, Taylor, Carter, Hebert, Straker

Going to be a nervous afternoon in front of a packed Meadowbank. I do think it’ll go to a replay and will be 1-1 on the day. Alfie for us

I think we win this one 3-1. I know they are the division above, and we have not set the world alight this season.

It does just come up as one of those games of the round where the team from one division lower gets a win against team from the division above that is struggling. It has that whiff about it.

Goals from Rutherford, Prior, and Muitt.

Attendance estimate will be around 2,855

Wanderers 3 Shots 3

Att 3,235 (840 Shots)

Really looking forward to this one, in some ways I hope we go a bit gung ho, and really throw the kitchen sink at it!!

Replay wouldn't be a terrible disaster either, love it at the Rec, classic ground, loads near the ground for a good awayday, quality fans there too - they really back their team and create a good atmosphere.

I’m going for a sneaky 1-0 win. Prior penalty.

2,906 with 850 from Aldershot
Won’t be a classic but we will get over the line and into the first round proper

I'll have a Guinness

Having had fingers very well burnt predicting Cup success I am "managing my expectations" for this one and not expecting anything more than a narrow defeat. It would be great to see some of the youngsters given some more minutes, especially given the injury situation, to see if energy and quality can make up for any physical disadvantages. I am not keen on a replay at their place tbh.  I hope I'm wrong but guessing on a 1-2 defeat. 3,000 crowd.

I am predicting either a 1-0 win for the Wanderers or a 0-0 draw. Will be a tough game for sure

Had a catch up reading Shotsweb. My goodness they are a negative bunch!! 🤣

Apparently they always play the same way and to a man they are all predicting defeat. One is already canvassing for participants in a Tommy out protest!! 🤣

Thank goodness our fans are a bit more grounded than that lol

They love a good moan, do the Shots. Crazy really, lots to be thankful for - great old school stadium, fairly large and passionate fan base despite not being the biggest of towns. Could be so much worse imo.

Let's enjoy the ride tomorrow, whatever the result.

I guess those our age and older would remember all the years in the football league and believe it is their rightful place, so have some feeling that but for the ownership they would be a division higher.

I guess in the NL there is a brilliant mix of clubs who used to be in the EFL, and those ambitious clubs who have never been in there but dream of it. Such a fantastic league, perfectly balanced.

@dorking-eagle

Absolutely. And it filters down to the NLS with clubs such as Torquay and Maidstone with EFL ambitions it's also a great league, with the added advantage of more local games and changing ends (usually) at half time.

We've come a long, long way - even just being in the NLS should be greatly enjoyed and appreciated.

Yep, former EFL clubs Dagenham, Torquay and Maidstone (phoenix) in our league make it a great league to be part of.

Lots of Shots in town already enjoying the hospitality on offer! 🍺

A crossbar away from my 3-3 prediction on here coming true.

Usual story, can be the hardest working, most possession, most ball into the box etc etc, but if you don't put away your chances.

That said, couldn't be prouder of them than I am, every one of them fought like a warrior and gave 110%. Take that commitment and attitude forward and we will be doing great things this season.

So many chances in that first half before they scored, really have to take them. Thought the lads played really well. One day it’ll happen I’m sure but the wait goes on…
