Dorking Wandering
The Dorking Wanderers FC Fans Forum
The beginning of at least 3 matches in a row at Meadowbank this month starts with newly promoted AFC Totton this weekend. The Stags currently sit in 4th place in the table on 13 points.
Dorking will be without Harrison Foulkes for four weeks due to a spleen injury and currently have no senior reserve keeper in the squad. Francomb, Norville-Williams and McManus seemingly remain sidelined but Louie Annesley returns to the squad after recovering from the injury he picked up in early pre-season.
Predictions:
Dorking 2-1 Totton (Rutherford x 2)
1,468 att.
???
Camp Storey Vincent
Muitt Taylor Gallagher Lewis
Carter
Rutherford Prior
Subs: Craig, Annesley, Pybus, Saunders, Moore, Hebert, McShane
Guy next to me in the stand said we only had that keeper today as Barnet don’t want him cup tied next week. Said we have a couple coming in for a trial on Monday.
Good win in a tetchy game. Struggled to get going first half but thought we were much better in the second.
I thought Totton faded second half and we should have put game to bed long before the end. Very strong defence at the end to protect the win. I thought Vincent, Muitt and Storey all had very strong games. Keeper slightly at fault for goal (Terry would’ve pushed it round post) but made up for it with great tip over in second half.
The keeper that played today was for today only. All the clubs we approached didn't want to loan us a keeper for next weeks FA Cup game as the keeper would then be cup tied
There are 2 possible keepers lined up to try out on Monday, hopefully one of them will be just what we need for the next month.
The one we had today was very good though and made some decent saves, especially the second half one that he tipped over the bar.
I thought it was a good all round performance and we kept Totton under control for long periods.

Really good, and important win yesterday. Great effort all across the pitch but 2 things stood out for me;
One was the short passing interplay when we ran down the clock - outstanding skills from the likes of Charlie, Jason, Josh etc.
And the other - Louie Annerley - looked class from the moment he came on. Clearly a ball player, not just a tall defender.
I think there is much, much more to come from this team, especially when all are back from injuries - and I wouldn't be surprised if we took an opposition team apart very soon...
