Back on the road again, this time to Kent to face Tonbridge Angels. Longmead is a ground we've not had much luck at over the years, with just one win back in 2019. The Angels currently sit 18th in the league on 26 points and just one win in their last 5 matches.

The squad is decimated after Worthing on Tuesday with the likes of Prior, Francomb, Camp, Lewis and possibly Young all picking up injuries. Rutherford, Norville-Williams, Taylor, Moore and Muitt are all still likely to be absent as well. Louis Storey has also left the club.

Predictions:

Tonbridge 1-1 Dorking (Casey)

1,105 att.

                        Foulkes

        Gallagher    Craig     Annesley

 Hebert               Pybus                  Vincent

                McShane    Tauta-Caballero

              Carter              Casey

Subs: M.Foulkes, Fulco, McLeod, McManus, Sullivan, Straker, Lawrence

I think we would fit McManus into the starting line up. Fingers crossed for a win.

@dorking-eagle I'd be surprised if he started off the back of a couple of 10 minute cameos. At best he would only be able to do 45 mins.

Has a reason for Storey leaving been given yet? No news on X or club website as of yet just going from The gaffers YouTube update

Will be a tricky game with a patched up team, first thought was a 1-1 draw . Casey again …

I can see Jack Young in the training photos from NYD, so I assume he will be fit enough to play.

Offered a player-coach roleasI understand it, and it's close to home

I wish him all the best, I liked his work ethic, even if he's not been first choice lately.

I'll have a stab at a team*

*Subject to injuries

Foulkes

Francomb

Craig

Gallagher

Vincent

Young

Pybus

Carter

McShane

Casey

Lawrence

Could be decent - would be a change of style with more through the middle and using Casey's and Lawrences's pace...

Tonbridge (1) 1 Dorking W (1) 3   (Casey 2, Lawrence)

899 (291 Wanderers)

Shame about Storey leaving, he was a good player to have at the club and experienced. I think today will be a draw. 1-1

Agree that Storey is a big loss to the club. It will need to be a big change in tactics if both wingers are out and a chance for some new faces to shine.  I’m going for a rearguard action and sneaking a 1-0 win. Casey again.

To maintain a similar system without Muitt and Lewis, it goes without saying that the obvious choices at LW and RW is a choice between McManus, Lawrence and Hebert. I personally think he chooses McManus on one side and Hebert on the other.

Given the different tactics against Worthing he could go with something different though.

Overall my prediction is 2-1 to us with goals from Casey and Carter.

At least Lewis is good to play, so maybe the system stays the same.  Surprised that Annesley is not starting - perhaps he is a finisher - as there is not a lot of pace in back three, if that is the formation. Would take a draw tbh.

Wasn’t at the game but seemed like we were lucky to have a point, even after taking the lead twice (going by the Clubs twitter feeds anyway)
What was the injury to Carter, anything serious?

edit, just seen Marc’s interview. Gutting about Charlie, never known injury curse like it

@gary-munnery Completely gutted. Charlie has been superb for us after his first stint out, and now won't be back until 10-12 weeks per Marc. I think the point is good with what we are working with. He also mentioned that Dennon couldn't complete the game. Hopefully, he will be ready in 10 days. It appears the majority of injuries are less about conditioning and more just unlucky contact injuries. I hope we can keep moving forward with some smash and grab keep in the playoffs. Then have many players back and fit for the playoffs.
