Dorking Wandering
The Dorking Wanderers FC Fans Forum
The hunt for the 1st round proper continues this weekend away at fellow NLS side Salisbury FC. The Whites were pipped as dark horses in league for this season but are so far winless from their opening 9 games as they sit 23rd in the table on 5 points. The Wiltshire side also includes Wanderers legend Matt Briggs on the wing.
Marc didn't reveal too much in his weekly update when it comes to fitness but the likes of Foulkes, Francomb and McManus are likely all still out for this one. I wouldn't expect to see Camp or possibly even Carter either based on how they came out of the Dagenham game.
Predictions:
Salisbury 1-1 Dorking (Rutherford)
1,362 att.
Phillips
Gallagher Storey Vincent
Muitt Taylor Pybus Lewis
McShane
Rutherford Prior
Subs: Norville-Williams, Craig, Annesley, Moore, Hebert, 2 x B Team
I quite like that Marc is keeping his cards close to his chest re injuries
I had a binge watch of the first 7 or 8 BoA episodes of this season recently, and on one they made sure the main tactics weren't shown either.
Glad the club is being a bit more wily about it's tactical side, no point giving the game away any earlier than necessary.

Crucial one, this. But despite any injuries it's still one we should win
Salisbury (0)1 Dorking (2)3 Rutherford (3)
1,195 (270 Wanderers)
@dorking-eagle Yes Rich Phip on his BOA updates has said they are being careful with regards to tactics etc. Makes sense .
As for Salisbury I think it’ll go to a replay, 1-1 on the day , Carter
@gary-munnery TBH I'd absolutely take a draw at this point - at least we'd be in the hat
Maybe worth pointing out in the light of the utterly tragic news regarding Billy Vigar that tomorrow's venue has a breezeblock wall surrounding the entire pitch.
I'd imagine that players on both sides will be very wary of this now.
Others in this division with such walls include Hemel and Chippenham. There's probably more.
A lovely big grass pitch down there should suit us and last season was a really comfortable win. So, despite our abysmal FA Cup record, I’m going for a 2-1 win. Prior and Muitt.
Inevitable Briggsy would score🙄
I an getting bored of seeing us not scoring in the second half like this with JP9 up top. Dropping deep into midfield and playing it backwards and sideways. You know even someone half fast from the division below would be doing damage there. Everyone knows what I mean.
What is the teams statistics in the second half since September of 2024? Must be absolutely shite. Surely he needs to look at this, is this like the Soviet Union under Ceaușescu that they cannot challenge Mark???
Had the most chances, tried the hardest to win it but their keeper made some great saves. Got to be favourites to win the replay at home.
Hope Carter isn't out too long, he would have been the quality we needed to unlock it today.
In Marc we trust.

Bogey team Horsham are OUT.
IMPOSSIBLE to know where the two regional zones will be set at, but last season they simply merged zones 1 and 2 (North and Midlands) and left the South Zone alone, so these are the most likely teams in our part of the draw on Monday afternoon for the 4th qualifying round:
Worthing
Farnham Town
Ebbsfleet
Whitstable Town
Slough Town
Hampton & Richmond
Eastbourne Borough
Folkestone Invicta
Farnborough
Weston super-Mare
AFC Totton
Chippenham Town
Chatham Town
Forest Green Rovers
Boreham Wood
Southend United
Yeovil Town
Wealdstone
Eastleigh
Aldershot Town
Woking
Sutton United
Truro City
Braintree Town (?)
PLUS:
Cray Valley PM or Tonbridge Angels
Salisbury or Dorking Wanderers
Flackwell Heath or Bracknell Town
LOWEST RANKED SURVIVOR
Whitstable Town - non league step 5 (Southern Counties East League Premier Division)

Chances are it'll be a tough draw then, with most NLS appearing to make it through...
Anyone at home then - or Whistable/Flackwell/Bracknell away (if we make it)
The draw is live on the radio, 2pm Monday afternoon (Talksport)
Potentially colossal - play our cards right, get a favourable draw and we could be on the way to Marc being on that live BBC draw programme with Chappers, a tv game watched by millions, a huge shop window for the club, even potentially half a gate at Cardiff, Bradford City, Bolton, Wimbledon, Plymouth...
