I predict it’s going to be the following:-

Luke Moore

Barry Fuller

Niall McManus

Rhys Murphy

Bobby Joe only kept on because he is a coach.

I am not going to count anyone under 23 as they don’t count anyway.

3 new signings apparently according to a marketing and news email I received this week! 🤩

We are looking very light up front, so would expect a least one striker and probably another defender. With 3 signings the squad would number 21 including two youngsters. A bit light but assume intention for some of Academy players to get run out from time to time in cup games.

@crawleysth I don't think we have any issues with a small squad. Players can be brought in during the season as was proven last season.

The issue is if training methods result in us thrashing the fu** out of the boys before the starts, then we enter our 4th early season injury crisis in a row. There needs to be a bit of bigger picture preparation in this pre season right? Surely its time to learn lessons by now right?

Surely we need to be a bit smarter about how to get players fit. Muitt last season peaked in pre season for some strange reason and his level dropped off when the real games started, even though he didnt get injured, so clearly he was thrashed out in pre-season. Pre season does not matter. We need some long term planning on the load these lads can take and we need come up with individual plans for pre season focusing on the full season.

Someone on FB says that one of them is Michael Clunnan from Scunthorpe.

Is not the position you would expect, as is a central midfielder. We already have Josh Taylor, Charlie Carter and Dan Pybus competing for that position. Then there is McManus and Moore who do bits in there from time to time. I dont think Clunnan will be coming to bench warm.

Clunan has re-signed for King's Lynn as per BBC

While I agree that we maybe don't handle pre-season particularly well in terms of managing fitness levels, I disagree that Muitt peaked in pre-season. He ended up with nearly 20 goal contributions from wing back and was voted fans player of the season...

Hopefully the new S&C coach and change of footwear at home will help with the early season fitness and injuries this time around.

@calvertskans Muitt's level noticeably dropped in the first 4-5 games of the season compared to his pre-season form where he was exceptional. He then rediscovered that form after the first 4-5 games. So my point about him peaking in preseason stands.

I was not referring to his entire season. Just how he was pre-season vs the start of the season.

@dorking-eagle Great for Josh if he can knuckle down and not be a dick head then he ends up playing league 2 level for sure.
