Grim news on the injury front - looks like one fit striker for Saturday, and possibly beyond.

I'd say it's JP up top with Macca playing off him on Saturday?

Thoughts?

Marc sounded a bit downbeat on todays update. I did like what he was suggesting about creating a cycle of success. It's a gutting scenario because Jose couldn't have done any more since he arrived recently.

I remember speaking to Jimmy years ago and he said that he  saw himself primarily as a striker rather than a winger. I remember foremost a brilliant strikers goal against Maidstone away several years ago by him, I also remember a similar individual effort by Muitt against Hartlepool in our final NL game (one of 2 he scored that day)

We will just have to shuffle the pack in reality.

I don't know if renewing season tickets early (I had an emailed offer) will help at all with the finances or if it will just lead to the club chasing rainbows, spending next years money?

Also a PROPER cup run (in the Trophy) will surely go a long way to helping the budget. I was thinking this morning about all the brilliant times we had in the National League, the fantastic trips to brilliant places - I would love to go on a proper run and get some more of those trips again, some packed out Meadowbank occasions, and go really deep in this. Hornchurch won it not that long ago, no reason why we can't try to, it would be huge for the town, everyone remembers the games against Stockport which really put the club on the map!

Although he sort of skirted around the question, Marc made it sound like there are no plans to sign anyone until at least January.

Rutherford: 12-14 weeks

Francomb: 1-2 weeks

Norville-Williams: 50/50 for Saturday

Marquez: Doubt for Saturday

Annesley: International duty

Carter: Sounds like another setback so doubt we see him this weekend

McManus: No update

Hebert: No update

To make things worse, I believe Camp and Storey are both one yellow away from a suspension as well...

Exactly David.

It's long term thinking atm - a future side with younger talent but the Wanderers DNA of strong loyalty and entertaining football.

Completely agree on the cup, would be fantastic to get a run going, many clubs don't care until the later stages and even just getting some of the bigger NL sides home or away would be a boost (trip to Carlisle, anyone?!)

I would love Carlisle of course, but any share of an attendance there would be heavily eaten up by the costs of our team travel. A trip of that scale would bond the squad like never before.

On a totally unconnected note, I bought an additional ticket for our Boxing Day game today, and I noticed the following wording on the webpage for that game:

"Secure your tickets in advance, online and save at least 10% on admission."

Is that a carefully worded clue that if any tickets remain for 'pay on the day' then they will be £20 on the gate (adults) rather than £18??

In the mean time I shall have a look at the new Christmas merch in the online shop. Every little helps. (Wanderers tea towel anyone?)

Bad news on the injury front. Hopefully Lennon, McShane, Muitt or even Moore can act as stand in striker if needed?

On season ticket releases, Dorking seem to get earlier and earlier every year. Most clubs don't release prices for renewals until well into the New Year. 3 months into the season is ridiculously early. To me it indicates that the club are short of money, and wants to get some extra cash in to help fund a playoff push in the New Year if appropriate.

I can't  go to the Boxing Day game, but there is no wording about saving 10% on the other games this year, so yes it looks like the on the day price may be higher for this game.

DW have done Black Friday season ticket offers for many years now. I am not against it per se as I have benefitted from some cracking deals in recent years.

And tbh, what non league club isn't always looking at ways to raise funds (half season tickets will be on sale before Christmas too I suspect)

I think the club could sell those bright pink shirts from Hornchurch (a) too (pre orders only-limited edition) and they would shift a few.
