A fifth straight game at Meadowbank as we face Hornchurch for a top of the table clash tomorrow night. The Urchins currently sit in 3rd, just 3 points behind us and with an extra game in hand. They have 10 points from their last 5 games.

Injury news is bleak as McShane, Muitt and McCallum are all added to the long term absentee list. Francomb missed the Farnborough game but is visible in the training footage from this morning so might be in line for a return tomorrow night. Carter and Pybus were described as 7-10 days away before the game on Sat so likely won't make this one.

Predictions

Dorking 1-1 Hornchurch (Prior)

1,492 att.

                           H.Foulkes

            Camp       Annesley      Norville-Williams

 Lewis         Gallagher           Sidwell            Vincent

                            McManus

                    Prior          Rutherford

Subs: M.Foulkes, Craig, Francomb, Knight, Grass, Moore, Straker

Found a way to win tonight using probably the only players and tactics that would have achieved it. Huge 3 points, 5 points clear, and you have to say it's title winning home form.

Can we follow that up with points on the road? Time will tell, but what a ride we are on (again).

Happy days. COYW!

Yep, a massive 3 points there, considering the squad available. Made a good side look quite ordinary and restricted them to a few crumbs only.
The revamped midfield really stepped up; much more aggression. Niall fully deserved his MoM and Vincent was also dynamic and took his goal really well.
Lots of away games stacking up now. Will be great to get Charlie and Pybus back but we will need some reinforcements up front. Agree JP is not likely to contribute much, but tbf he won ball today that led to the goal.

On to Maidstone … who are struggling for form atm. 💪

The good thing in this league is the team don't always have to play brilliantly and dominate for the whole 90 minutes

And with 5 subs the individual players can contribute what they are able to

It was clear this wasn't going to be a 5 goal performance tonight, so the team adjusted the tactics to make it tough for Hornchurch. The midfield workrate went up massively, and the defenders put in a proper shift.

Most of the team wouldn't have scored tonight if it was on a plate, those trees at the West end of the ground were taking a battering! But when the chance came it was was taken.

At least one reinforcement is on his way. Maybe loans will come in too.

The spirit in this side is immense. I mean, DWFC always have players that give thier all - but this is another level.

And Niall running himself into the ground (underrated player, much more skill than given credit for).

3 big big points - and the Bank the loudest I've heard it for a long while, especially at the end! Keep those cheap kids tickets imo - makes a massive difference.

Fantastic result, a really tense game but everyone was fantastic- especially the defence and Niall, who just ran constantly.

Great crowd in, bit more than i thought there would be. Hornchurch had a good loud following too.

Interested to know who this Championship player coming in is. Young winger?

Good hard fought win, and surprisingly high crowd. Well taken goal by Vincent. Players did well, but need Carter and Pybus back soon for run in.

Slightly surprised by the stats. I thought the duels success would be higher and not sure how Foulkes was top performer. He claimed crosses very well but otherwise had very little to do - a few routine saves only. But I am not sure how it is calculated tbh. Otherwise there was a case for  anyone in the defence - kept Balanta very quiet - and some important blocks.

Hornchurch won tonight and have cut our lead to 5 points. On the positive side, Torquay drew and Weston Supermare lost.

Hornchurch, similar to us, actually have quite a tricky run-in as they still have to travel to Horsham, Chesham and Maidstone while hosting Maidenhead, Hemel, Dagenham, Chelmsford and Ebbsfleet. Chippenham, Farnborough and Bath all away won't be easy either due to their situations.
