Penultimate home game of the regular season as we welcome Hampton & Richmond to Meadowbank. Their form has fallen off a cliff since we drew 2-2 away back in February, with them picking up just 2 wins. However, they did beat Welling 5-0 at the weekend to end a long run of defeats.

Marc said there were no injury concerns ahead of the match although we have not seen Rhys Murphy in the squad for the last few weeks. Josh Taylor's suspension takes 7 days to come in to effect so he will be available for this one.

Predictions

Dorking 3-0 Hampton & Richmond (Carter, Rutherford, Camp)

2,479 att.

                         Foulkes

          Camp        Craig       Milsom

Muitt         Taylor        Young         Norville-Williams

                          Carter

               Rutherford       Prior

Had a nosey in that stand, views very decent to be fair, and 99% sat

Be interesting what people thought who were in it for the match, whether people walking in front was a nuisance or not etc

That was the most incredible start to a game I think I have seen. It sort of killed the game but after saying it is never straightforward I am happy to eat those words.  A brilliant response to last week from Charlie and all and could have been more.

Right thing to do to rest players in second half.  I think that is a bit harsh on Murphy @JacksonFairweather: he instigated a great move at the start of the half in which he was unlucky not to make it 5-0. He doesn’t offer the aerial threat of JP or running power of Alfie, but is an intelligent ball player and great finisher. But the team is not used to playing with him and to his strengths I agree it doesn’t always seem to work well.

Results went our way pretty much so it is shaping up for an epic day down in Worthing. So much better had it not been for that last minute at Bath 😫

Enjoyable day yesterday and a very good crowd in. Meadowbank really does struggle with those 2000 plus crowds though, massive queues for everything and little room to pass around people. I went down for a drink on 40mins and it took 20 mins to get one. That new stand seemed to work well though, but guess it’ll disappear once the seasons done.

Got there at my usual time of about 1.20, which I guess is early and a long queue for the fanzone bar. The staff were brilliant and working as fast as the beer would pour, but doing happy hour offer really drew the crowds in early! Had no chance of a second one at that price before 2pm lol. Before anyone takes offence all the staff and volunteers are beyond brilliant, but as you say Gary, the infrastructure can't cope as efficiently as we would perhaps like.

Any play off matches, they have to open the ground earlier really.

Yes that wasn’t a dig on any staff, everyone was working hard. Even Charlie Dunne reserve manager was pouring pint after pint at the Bank Bar at half time.
Im hoping next week they might open that area behind The Bank and have some more food and drink stalls like they did a lot last season. I expect it it’ll be a similar crowd to yesterday

View from the new stand was much better than I thought it would be. I didn't think you would be able to see the far corner due to the dugouts but it was absolutely fine and not obstructed at all. Only complaint I would have is that it should be a couple of feet closer to the pitch so that people can walk behind it rather than in front of it.

The other issue was that it made that area of the ground VERY busy and crowded. It was also probably the longest I have ever seen the queue for the bar and the toilets near the Bank. If you get crowds of 2000+ then I think they have to open that fanzone behind the Bank stand, like they did for Torquay a few weeks ago.

Great performance on the pitch, especially first half. That has to be up there for fastest NL/NLS hatrick and might be up there for earliest (in terms of KO to 3rd goal) hatricks in English football history? I do wish we had taken some of those chances in the second half though as goal difference could be important and that was a decent opportunity to seal the highest GD in the table for the season.
