Dorking Wanderers enter the Trophy in Round 2 proper (along with all other step 2 sides), and the draw for it is on Monday

If the format follows as per last season then the region we would be in for Round 2 will be a pretty huge one across the whole of the South

This would potentially mean facing one of the long list of teams below:

Sittingbourne or Cray Valley PM

Real Bedford or Ashford United

Brentwood Town or Welling United

Leatherhead or Canvey Island

AFC Sudbury or Leiston

Wingate & Finchley or Cheshunt

Stanway Rovers or Harrow Borough

Tilbury or Hadley

Waltham Abbey or Chatham Town

Billericay Town or Bishop's Stortford

St Albans City or Hanwell Town

Burgess Hill Town or Folkestone Invicta

Walton & Hersham or Hendon

Bracknell Town or Banbury United

Basingstoke Town or Dorchester Town

Plymouth Parkway or Poole Town

Wimbourne Town or AFC Portchester

Gloucester City or Havant & Waterlooville

Farnham Town or Bishop's Cleeve

PLUS the whole of the National League South(24)

Marc also mentioned the Weston game in the pre-match interview and mentioned Christmas fixtures so I wonder if it gets put on the 23rd?

I'm hearing the 16th for that one

@adeb Any chance that gets moved to January considering the Alfie injury?

@calvertskans I'd say so, this was before Alfie was ruled out....

@adeb Always been keen to know how fixture re-arrangements work at this level. I would have assumed it was the league that enforced the date based on the earliest point both teams don't have a midweek fixture but it sounds like the clubs can pick whatever date they both want.

Eastbourne (H) in the league that has been moved to the 6th (previously Tues 25th) not the away one in Feb or the FA Trophy one next week.

Still hoping that Weston game gets moved to Sat 13th if both us and them are knocked out the Trophy next week...

Marquez unlikely to be able to play vs Eastbourne which would leave us seriously short up front. Prior and McShane?

@adeb Seems odd considering he's on loan here for the season?

@calvertskans I guess if FGR progress in the Trophy they would want/need fringe players? Again, not sure but with the Cup competitions, can't clubs recall all loanees if they want to?

Parent clubs can put various clauses into loan deals such as:

Can't  play cup games

Option to recall in January if need

Option to recall if injury crisis

Must play certain percentage of games or will be recalled.

If he is badly injured

These options have happened to a few players Crawley have had on loan "for season" This gives parent club option to recall if player doing really well and they want to play him themselves, or if they get a cash offer, or if loan club is not playing him, so they can loan out to someone else.

Eastbourne at home on Sat 6 December is really smart scheduling as it is an International weekend so very little league football about on that weekend - even the England game is abroad on the Sunday!

We rumble along the road to Wembley....

Round 3 is where the National League (step 1) sides enter. However it is regional (2 regions, North and South)

Teams through from Round 2 (all those who could be vaguely included as 'Southern' (excuse my geography knowledge!!!)

Hereford (if classed as 'Southern')

Alvechurch

Bath City

Anstey Nomads

Cheshunt

Brentwood Town

AFC Telford United

Weston super-Mare

Dagenham and Redbridge

Dorking Wanderers

Dover Athletic

Ebbsfleet United

AFC Totton

Harborough Town

Hemel Hempstead Town

Horsham (groan)

Kidderminster Harriers (depends where the North starts)

Harrow Borough

Leamington

Leatherhead

Hanwell Town

Peterborough Sports

Plymouth Parkway

Gloucester City

Maidstone United

Walton & Hersham

Chatham Town

Worthing

PLUS National League teams classed as 'Southern' - potentially...

Forest Green Rovers

Boreham Wood

Southend United

Wealdstone

Tamworth (?)

Solihull Moors (?)

Eastleigh

Woking

Boston United (??)

Brackley Town (?)

Yeovil Town

Sutton United

Braintree Town

Aldershot Town

Truro City

I’d like anyone at home apart from Aldershot, Horsham or Boreham Wood.

There might be some teams from the NL who don't particularly care about the Trophy, and who might rotate their squad and not go full strength, wouldn't it be smashing to get on a proper cup run

Hereford, Harrow B or Leatherhead away please

Or pretty much anyone at home but Sutton Utd or Forest Green would be good.
