A repeat of last season as we face Eastbourne Borough in the second round of the FA Trophy at Meadowbank. The Sussex side have had a rough start to the season as they currently sit in the relegation zone in 21st place with just 12 points. The Sports squad includes ex-Wanderer Dan Quick in their ranks.

The injury update yesterday makes it sound like we could be missing at least 8 players tomorrow. Louie Annesley definitely misses the game due to international duty while Alfie Rutherford is now a long term absentee. The likes of Carter, Francomb, McManus, Hebert, Norville-Williams and Marquez all are injury doubts.

Predictions:

Dorking 1-0 Eastbourne (McShane)

922 att.

                      Foulkes

          Camp     Storey    Vincent

 Muitt    Taylor    Pybus    Moore    Lewis

               McShane     Prior

Subs: Craig, Gallagher, Norville-Williams, Sullivan, Hebert, Jacks, Straker

We are wearing the black kit - maybe OLBG have requested we do so?

@hemelwanderer Yeah strange, worn an away shirt at home a fair bit this season now.

Not expecting a classic tomorrow and hopefully it’s done in 90mins

2-1 home win, JP and Muitt.

Tomorrow will be our 12th home game and the 6th time not wearing the home kit. 50% of games!

Looks like all 3 Eastbourne kits clash with our home kit to some extent so I guess we are forced to switch.

@calvertskans The pink or the white strip wouldnt of caused too many issues against our red

Yes, I think for some reason, there seems to be a reluctance to play in our home kit at home, although I can see the issue with this fixture on shirt clashes. One thing I took from the pre-match interview, was they may be room for a few new players in January.

I was really cheesed off with this draw when it was made a few weeks ago but now it is matchday I am feeling a lot more positive. 4 wins recently and the gaffer is up for a proper cup run, we are at home and we can do it with a winning mentality. COYW!

(the club have got lots of black and orange DWFC scarves for sale for anyone really in the mood!)

@crawleysth Personally I hope we revert back to the full red and white stripes for next season. A kit vote for fans would be good. Luminous yellow away/third 🤞

Correct scoreline, the crowd looked nearer 600 than the 900's though. Meadowbank quite the fortress this season, thought with tickets just £12 and no top level football we should have got a bigger attendance on a mild autumn day.

....and for Marc, yes, we went home happy! 😎

(them subs!! 🤣 )

The dickhead comments are back on X again I see, failing to take into account budget limitations, player injuries and fitness and so on.

And there is a friendly against AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday at 10.30 to help try and get Pybus and Gallagher match fit.

I saw his comment about sticking it on the forum 🤣 . Also couldn’t believe the comment on X about JP, thought he was good today.

Enjoyable game, thought EBFC played well and I’m sure they’ll climb the league in the coming months. Looks like we came through the game unscathed injury wise

Got the job done but it really wasn't pretty for most of the game although under very difficult circumstances due to player availability. I actually think scoring early in the second half ended up hurting us a bit as we really sat back after that.

Agreed that Prior worked hard and had a good game in terms of a hold up play but he was absolutely zero goal threat. McShane will tend to drift deeper in to his more natural position which leaves Prior as the main striker and I think he struggles with that role a bit. It was good to see Marc achknowledge the current squad limitations in the post match and it sounds like we should be bringing in some players sooner rather than later.

I thought Prior had a decent game but it seems it has become fashionable to knock him whenever things are not going brilliantly, much of the criticism is unfair.

@bethdan Absolutely.

He's underated in terms of what he does for the whole team, the way he reads the game, the little flicks and passes and his incredible defensive work.

A real all rounder - and let's not forget, he's playing week in, week out, often twice a week and rarely if ever gets subbed off.

A DWFC warrior.
