A first competitive game at Meadowbank for 29 days awaits this Saturday as we face Chippenham Town. The Bluebirds currently sit at the foot of the NLS table with 20 points, although their recent form has improved with just one defeat in their last 5 matches.

No injury update yet this week but last week Marc did make it sound like Prior might return this weekend. Alfie Rutherford and Jordan Norville-Williams were also both involved in the warm-up at Hampton. Jack Young's loan deal at the club has ended.

Predictions:

Dorking 3-1 Chippenham (McCallum, Lewis, McShane)

1,479 att.

                    Foulkes

       Camp      Craig     Annesley

Muitt     Gallagher     Sidwell     Lewis

                    McShane

            McCallum     Casey

Subs: Francomb, Vincent, McManus, Tauta-Caballero, Hebert, Lawrence, Prior

Dorking 2 Chippenham 0 (Lewis and Casey). Attendance 1,287.I would like to see a clean sheet for a change, as I never see them watching Crawley!

Feels like a life time ago since Boxing Day, looking forward to getting down there.
This new guy Knight may feature - guess he’s fit? Bracknell fans seem to rate him as a club legend and an excellent player.

Dorking win 3-0 with goals from Casey, McCallum and Lewis

I think a big win, we are so lucky to have the recent reinforcements.

Has there been a weekly update from Marc by the way?

@dorking-eagle I was thinking that - nothing mentioned as yet which is unusual?

Appreciate that this is not the correct thred but just noticed that the coach to Enfield is now downgraded to a mini bus presumably due to low level of take-up, which is a shame.

The club have done that for a few recent trips, I booked on the coach for Enfield because I really don't fancy driving round the M25 in rush hour myself. At least there is still transport running I guess.

Dorking 2 Chippenham 1 (Casey, McCallum)

Chippenham were decent first game of the season and they almost beat Worthing so no doubt a tough game again. Great to have some boys back on the bench now and sounds like that includes Knight too - presumably signed to cover for Pybus now Young has gone. Will be interesting to see if we go long again, like last week, with McCallum up top, and midfield a bit light.

Did someone say 2-1? ☺️

Great 3 points against a very decent side, who had the better of the first half.  Second half much better, although we looked light in midfield at times.  Annesley very assured at the back and with Jordan back, that should be our starting back 3 I reckon. Nice to have Alfie back too - took his goal well.  Onwards to Enfield!

Had to win that today with our home form and playing the team in 24th, but Chippenham were very decent to be fair. McCallum has such physical strength.

Great to get Prior and Rutherford on

3 points ole ole, and only 2pts off the top.

Enfield (22nd) on Tuesday, vital to get 3pts before we visit Torquay (3rd) next weekend

Very excited about our strikeforce, I just hope Sidwell in midfield doesn't get bullied by a physical team, I hope midfield gets a bit more physical - is Mooro actually injured or just getting a bit old for the amount of games?

As others said, Chippenham were much better than position indicated. Hard fought win, but thought we deserved win in end. Good to see Alfie, Jason and NW return from injury.

Tough to game to analyse as I don't think we were that great, but once again, we are missing several key players and have a few new players who are still settling in.

Was great to see Alfie back, he looked really sharp and took his goal well. Thought we looked much better when JNW came on as well. Annesley and McShane were by far the standouts though.

Really important we take at least 4 points from Enfield and Salisbury if we want to stay in that title race. The fixtures from Feb onwards look really tough so need as many points as we can now.

Stats:

Possession: Dorking 49% - 51% Chippenham - 2nd lowest home possession of the season

Shots (OT): Dorking 14 (7) - 13 (5) Chippenham

xG: Dorking 1.83 - 1.63 Chippenham - Highest xG we've conceded at home this season

Top Performer: Dennon Lewis [8.0]

Stats are interesting.  They reflect my thought that Chippenham played some of the best football we have seen from an away side. Really kept the ball well and caused problems with their movement. But I’m surprised at the XG. There was one big save from Foulkes in a one on one but apart from that I don’t recall him being troubled. Claimed some good crosses for sure. Agree on Annesley and Macca set up that goal superbly.  I still think that with the quality wingers we have there should be more chances for McCallum to have a go at - hopefully that will come in time.  Interesting to see who starts up front on Saturday.

Not a bad night yesterday without playing. Joe Cook conceded the pen which cost Worthing the game at Hampton. Their fans forum are baffled at their sudden loss of form; and confidence according to the manager.
