The start of a very big and very difficult October as we face Chelmsford City on the road. The Clarets currently sit 1 point and 1 place behind us in the table in 10th. The Essex side also includes former Wanderer Jack Barham.

Marc wasn't revealing too much again in the weekly update but suggests that we will be very light for this one. Taylor, Carter, Gallager and McManus are all expected to be missing.

Predictions:

Chelmsford 3-1 Dorking (McShane)

1,381 att.

                      Phillips

   Camp    Storey    Craig   Norville-Williams

       McShane    Pybus     Vincent

   Muitt           Rutherford        Lewis

Subs: Foulkes, Annesley, Francomb, Sullivan, Moore, Hebert, Prior

I like that line up Tom - plenty of talent despite missing crucial players

Chelmsford (1) 2 Dorking W (0)2 Vincent, Rutherford

1,301 (220 Wanderers)

With the important players we have missing in the middle I think it may be a score draw.

1-1 , Alfie

A point here would be a good result in light of the squad challenges we have at the moment.

Still spaces on the supporters coach if anyone can make it.

Would take a draw for sure.  2-2 I reckon.

Happy to escape from there with a draw after what I thought for the most part was a pretty poor performance.  Wind didn’t help but the number of crosses which didn’t beat the first man or went straight to keeper was way too high.

Chelmsford tried to play a bit a bit of football but neither side created much. Alfie missed out one big chance before the goal. Really pleased for Josh to get on the scoresheet. And could have nicked a win at the end too. Will be good to get the midfield back next week hopefully.  Dennon Lewis MoM for me.

@baggy Hebert scoring will be hopefully a huge confidence booster, well pleased for him and happy weve come away with a point. For me Dennon Lewis has easily been one of our best players so far this season, always a threat down the left👍

First half the wind was ridiculous, we couldn't string together 3 passes.

Dont think the free kick was quite over the line

2nd half had a lot of entries into the box, Alfie should have scored the 1 on 1. Glad we got a point as I dont think Chelmsford deserved all 3.

Ted Sullivan (14) was decent for the short while he featured.

A point probably a fair result in very tough conditions. We dominated the ball but they probably shaded the chances. Thought we were really poor in high areas for the first 80 mins or so of the game and it only really improved when Francomb came on. I appreciate it was tough with the wind but I have never seen so many crosses and long throws completely miss their mark.

Really happy for Josh Hebert and hope he kicks on a bit now as we look woefully short of attacking players at the moment. Surely we have to sign someone now with Pybus the latest to drop?

Stats:

Shots (OT): Chelmsford 11 (2) - 11 (4) Dorking

Possession: Chelmsford 44% - 56% Dorking

xG: Chelmsford 1.21 - 0.48 Dorking

Long Balls: Chelmsford 72 - 77 Dorking - The most we've attempted this season so far

Accurate Crosses: Chelmsford 2 - 2 Dorking - The least we've made this season so far

Top Performer (Dorking): Dennon Lewis [7.6]
